A new record is coming from Home Free! The five-man group announces the release of Challenge the Sea, a bold new album out on September 19.
“We made a FULL ALBUM of sea shanties, maritime classics, and a few extra surprises!” the group announces on social media. “We officially set sail September 19th, but you can get early access with our exclusive pre-order bundles NOW. We know that our Sea Shanties have really struck a chord with people, and we believe that this album is going to be a fan-favorite for many years to come. We can’t wait to sing along with everyone.”
In an email to their fans, Home Free explains why they chose to do an entire project of Sea Shanties.
“There’s just something about these shanties that sound so great with an all-vocal backdrop,” they explain.
Home Free recently hinted that they had a new project coming out, one that was unlike anything they had done in the past.

“I will say that in some ways, this album is a departure for us, and in other ways, not at all,” Tim Foust tells Everything Nash.
“You’re going to get some of that same old Home Free that people know and love,” Adam Chance adds. “But, I think our fans — and I know they are grateful for this — we put out so much music. And this one is a way for us to do something that’s a little bit different. Not too different. But a little bit different.”
Challenge the Sea is part of an exciting new chapter for Home Free, which also includes two upcoming tours, both their The Jukebox Tour, allowing fans to pick the songs they perform, and their co-headlining Into the Deep Tour with The Longest Johns. The Longest Johns also appear on Challenge the Sea, along with Seán Dagher
