Luke Combs is the latest recipient of the ACM Gene Weed Milestone Award, given to him at the recent ACM Honors. Combs was honored for his global tours, including his 2023 World Tour. Interestingly, for an artist who has had more than 20 hit singles, his biggest hit overseas is one that was actually a cover.

“Definitely ‘Fast Car,’ for obvious reasons,” Combs tells Billboard. “But I think the interesting thing about overseas is that the people, they know songs that maybe they don’t know as well here. ‘Cause there’s not promoted singles like there are here. So they kind of just listen to the record and like what they like, which is pretty cool.”

Combs worked hard at building his career big enough so he could perform overseas. Fortunately for Combs, his hard work paid off.

“That was kind of always the goal, to get over there,” Combs says. “We felt like there was an audience for it, that was maybe a little bit underserved. To our surprise, it was. It’s been a lot of fun, but a lot of work.”

Luke Combs Takes A Break In 2025

Combs took a lot of time off in 2025, so he could spend time at home with his wife, Nicole, and their two young sons. It’s a break that Combs is enjoying, for the first time in his career. Combs is gearing up for a busy season again, including a new album, which features his current “Back In The Saddle” single.

“It’s been good. It’s been a lot of fun,” says the singer. “Obviously, I’ve got two little boys at home. That never stops. So ‘Back In The Saddle,’ at least in music terms. But it’s been quite busy, but it’s been good. A little scary.”

The 35-year-old is relishing the time at home, even though it’s taken him away from his fans more than ever before.

“Mentally, I’m doing very, very well,” Combs says. “I’ve really enjoyed the break. And the shows this year – we’ve only done 15 or so, which has been a very welcome change of pace for us. I’m having a lot of fun doing that.”

Luke Combs Is Working On A New Album

“Back In The Saddle” is the first single from Combs’ new album, which he says will be out soon. Combs has more than 30 songs already recorded for his new project, which he can’t wait to share with his fans.

“I’m really stoked about everything that we’ve recorded. I think it’s really, really strong stuff,” Combs tells Audacy. “Obviously everyone says that about every album they’ve ever done, so take that with a grain of salt. But it’s really just up to people how good it is, but I’m really excited about it. I’m really stoked to be getting back into it.”
