We already know that Chris Young‘s I Didn’t Come Here To Leave album will be out next week, but now he hints there might be more music coming soon, just in time for the holidays. Young recently announced he is embarking on his It Must Be Christmas – An Acoustic Evening with Chris Young Tour, his first holiday tour.
When announcing the tour, Young said he would be playing songs from his 2016 It Must Be Christmas record. But now the Tennessee native hints he may have more Christmas music coming in the near future as well.
“Never done one before. I’ve recorded a lot of Christmas music. There may be new Christmas music coming soon,” Young hints on Country Countdown USA. “I love that season. I love decorating for Christmas. The music from that holiday is really special. I’m going to do smaller rooms, Christmas at the beginning, hits in the middle, and more Christmas music at the end. We’re gonna make it fun. It’s gonna be a very different kind of show, and I’m excited about it.”

What Chris Young Says About His It Must Be Christmas – An Acoustic Evening with Chris Young Tour
Young has been vocal about his love of all things Christmas, which is why he is eager to embark on his holiday tour.
“I’m just really excited to do a Christmas tour,” Young shares at a recent media event. “A lot of people have asked me for it. I’ve never done one. I know it’s not the norm for everybody else, but Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year.”
Young’s It Must Be Christmas album includes Alan Jackson, on “There’s a New Kid in Town.” For Young, it remains one of his favorite records, which is why he is eager to release more Christmas music.
‘There is not a second one yet. I’m just saying, there might be some stuff in the works,” he teases. “I was like, ‘Yeah, I need time off,’ and then I haven’t taken any because that’s just how I’m built. But I’m very much looking forward to doing the Christmas tour, just because I love Christmas music. I love being able to sing some of that stuff.”
Chris Young’s ‘I Didn’t Come Here To Leave’ Album
Young’s I Didn’t Come Here To Leave is his first album on Black River Entertainment.
“I am very, very excited about this record, and for a lot of reasons,” Young says. “Mainly the level of care that’s been given to this album. Not that any of my other albums in my career haven’t had that same level of care. It’s just that there’s something special about this one. I don’t know what it is. And it just makes me happy.
“I love going back and listening to it,” he continues. “Normally, as an artist, I feel like a lot of us get done, and don’t go back and listen to it anymore. And I’m walking around to my friends, going, ‘Hey, listen to this. This is cool, right?’ So, I’m just excited. I think this record is special. and obviously the new relationship with Black River is pretty incredible.”
