Happy anniversary to Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins! The couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary on October 12th, with Rhett posting a sweet tribute to his supportive spouse.
“13 years with my best friend and the most beautiful girl I ever saw…I love you to the moon, Lauren Akins,” Rhett writes. “Happy anniversary!”

All About Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins’ Marriage
Both Rhett and Akins have been vocal about their past struggles in their marriage, and going through counseling to help them work through some of their issues.
“Listen, we’ve done a lot of work,” Rhett reveals on Audacy. “We’ve all done a lot of therapy. We’ve all worked a lot on ourselves. And I think that that’s kind of put us where we are now. And it’s been fun to pour into younger people. I feel like my wife and I both, we love doing that so much.”
Now, Rhett and Akins have found the secret to a successful relationship, which Rhett says really isn’t much of a secret.
“Be aligned on all fronts,” Rhett suggests. “Finances, the way that we’re gonna raise our kids, the schools we’re gonna go to, church we’re gonna go to. Just being [together] the whole way makes for so much more of a peaceful marriage. But it takes work, and it takes a lot of conversation. And maybe some arguments here and there, but I think just alignment is what I would say.”
How Thomas Rhett Balances Work and Family Life
Being a touring musician is not always easy, especially for someone like Rhett who wants to be a hands-on father. Fortunately, Rhett has found a system that works for him and his family, at least most of the time.
“Obviously, [I’ve] been blessed with an amazing family, blessed with being able to play shows and make music,” Rhett reflects. “But I think as my kids get older, it does become more challenging to do as much as I used to. I still try to keep up on social media, but at the same time, I do feel like when I am on social media a lot, then I’m neglecting something else. And my kids will always take precedence over that stuff.
“But at the same time,” he adds, “my wife and my kids know that this is what I love and what I was born to do, and so I think it’s just more about balancing the time now than it is just doing it all the time. … ’I want to make sure that as my kids get older, they know that they were always chosen first over career, over whatever. That’s just the kind of dad that I want to be known for by them, for sure.”
