George Strait and Cody Johnson will perform one show together in 2026. Strait announces an in-the-round style show on Saturday, May 22, at Clemson, South Carolina’s Memorial Stadium, joined by Johnson and Wyatt Flores.
The show will mark the first concert in Memorial Stadium since 1999, which was also headlined by Strait.
“Going back to Death Valley for the first time in more than 25 years feels pretty special,” Strait says. “Can’t wait to see you, Clemson!”
Johnson also speaks out about the show.
“What an honor to join The King, George Strait, for his return to Death Valley,” Johnson shares on social media.

George Strait Teases Another Big Announcement
The show with Johnson and Flores may or may not be the only thing Strait has planned. He recently teased something happening in 2026, by sharing a throwback photo of him with Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Mark Wills, the Dixie Chicks, and more.
“Gearing up for a 2026 announcement,” Strait writes. “Here’s a clue! Let us know your guess in the comments.”

Cody Johnson Takes Off For the Remainder of 2025
The news of Johnson’s 2026 tour date is especially exciting for his fans, since he took off the remainder of 2025, to have emergency surgery. Johnson recently announced that he would be unable to perform for the rest of the year, after suffering a burst eardrum.
“Just got home from my surgery in Houston. Got the nice little patch on my ear,” Johnson says in a recent video, showing fans the bandage.
“Doctor said the surgery went great,” he continues. “Should make a full recovery with the proper rehab. I’ve got a lot of follow-up doctor’s appointments to go yet. I just wanted to say, thanks for all the texts, the calls, the prayer requests, all the good wishes. I’ve really felt the love. So, I’m gonna do my best to recharge. And I can’t wait to see you guys in 2026.”
When announcing he was canceling all of his tour dates until next year, the Texan explained that it was because of a recent illness, which got progressively worse.
“It is with a very heavy heart I have to share the remainder of this year’s concert performances will not be able to happen,” Johnson says. “While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my eardrum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery. The healing process will take many weeks, and it is not possible for me to sing during this time.
“Without the surgery my downtime could be months,” he adds. “I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love. Thank you COJO Nation for the love and support now, and always.”
