Jason Aldean‘s wife, Brittany, is opening up about her father’s health. Brittany reveals that a song, “Help You Remember,” from Jason’s forthcoming Songs About Us album, is about her own father’s battle with dementia.
“Our journey with dementia,” Brittany writes on social media, sharing footage of her with her father over the years. “The heartache that diseases like this bring to a family is something we know all too well. We hope this song brings comfort to anyone going through something similar.”
When speaking about his new record, Jason hinted that there were some personal songs on the project.
“Some family stuff … My mother’s brother, my uncle, passed away with Lewy body dementia in the last year,” Jason says on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert. “And [we’ve] got another family member that’s dealing with that kind of thing. So we’ve got some songs we wrote, talking about that.”

Jason Aldean Talks About New ‘Songs About Us’ Album
Jason’s New Songs About Us album is 20 songs that Jason says are all personal to his own life, and likely to the lives of others as well.
“It means the world when one of my songs helps someone through a hard time—or celebrates their best moments,” Jason says. “This album is about all of that—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. Every track started with a real story or feeling, and together we turned those experiences into music. In the end, I realized this album is about all of us. These are songs about us.”
Brittany joins Jason on a song called “Easier Gone.”Luke Bryan sings on the title track, and David Lee Murphy joins Jason on “Dust on the Bottle.”
Jason wrote five of the songs on Songs About Us, including “Help Me Remember.” The song is available now, along with “Hard To Love You,” and “Lovin’ Me Too Long,” plus his current single, “How Far Does A Goodbye Go.”
