Luke Combs Reveals Why He Chose Dierks Bentley and Thomas Rhett For 2026 Tour

Luke Combs is embarking on a massive tour in 2026, with an impressive list of opening acts. After taking a lot of 2025 off to spend time with his family, Combs will spend part of next year headlining his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour, joined by Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, along with The Castellows, Ty Myers, The Teskey Brothers, Jake Worthington, and Thelma & James.

Bentley and Rhett have already proven their ability to sell out large venues on their own, with Rhett selling out Fenway Park earlier this year. Combs reveals he hand-picked all of his openers, including Bentley and Rhett, to join him on the tour, which includes several international dates.

“Guys that I think are great guys, and guys that I’m a fan of first and foremost,” Combs says on SiriusXM’s The Highway, when asked how he picks his opening acts. “I pick all my openers. People ask me that. They’re like, ‘Do you get to pick the openers?’ And I’m like, ‘Well, yeah. I get to pick the openers, for sure.’ No one’s like, ‘You’re taking this guy. But I guess there maybe are people that don’t really care about the openers. I just can’t imagine that. ”

Why Luke Combs Wants to Pick All of His Opening Acts

Combs acknowledges that some artists may want to leave the choice of the opening acts to management or their record label, or someone else on their team. But for Combs, picking all of his opening acts is crucial to hs tour.

“For me, I really like to try to curate the experience. Like I know Dierks puts on a great show. I know TR puts on a great show. I know those things. I can know if I’m out there, the crowd’s gonna be fired up. And it’s gonna make me work to have to put on a great show. You can’t phone it in after playing after Dierks. You can’t phone it in after playing after TR.”

“Because they’ve brought it, the crowd’s gonna be expecting a certain level,” he adds. “So it keeps me honest, and it’s exciting.”

Luke Combs’ New Album

Combs recently celebrated another No. 1 hit, with “Back In The Saddle.” He currently has a Top 40 single with “Days Like These.” “Days Like These” is from The Prequel, three songs he released ahead of his next record.

“I’ve already recorded, I don’t know, over 30 songs, I would think,” Combs tells Audacy. “I don’t know that there’s any plans to do like the big album thing. I just don’t know if I’d love that idea. There’s nothing against it. I mean, obviously it works really well.”

Combs may not want to do a big album, but he is excited about everything that will be on his next set of tunes.

“I’m really stoked about everything that we’ve recorded. I think it’s really, really strong stuff,” Combs hints. “Obviously, everyone says that about every album they’ve ever done, so take that with a grain of salt. But it’s really just up to people how good it is, but I’m really excited about it. I’m really stoked to be getting back into it.”
