Riley Green Reveals If He Wants to Settle Down and Have Children

Riley Green is single for now, but he does want to settle down someday, just not anytime soon.

“I have an interest in kids, just not 17. I don’t want a basketball team,” the 37-year-old jokes to Audacy. “I’m looking for like just a couple of little kids to hang out with.”

Green is close friends with Thomas Rhett, who is expecting his fifth child early next year, with his wife, Lauren Akins. Green admits he has no idea how Rhett does it.

“I don’t know how they do it. It’s crazy to me, “Green says. “He called me when I was at the beach last year, this summer, and he said, ‘Hey, I want to take a couple of my daughters out fishing. Can you find a boat?’ ‘Yeah, no problem.’ So I called him, texted him, said, ‘Hey man, go on the boat now,’ whatever. … He’s telling me a week later, ‘You don’t understand. I got a lot of kids.'”

“I don’t have any interest in that,” he continues. “My sister Lindy’s got three, and they’re constantly … they’re just driving. They spend 90 percent of their life driving to ball games.

Riley Green Understands Fans’ Interest in His Private Life

Green has quickly become a household name, at least in country music. As his career soars, the Alabama native is becoming the subject of tabloid fodder, not that he minds.

Green has been linked, at least in entertainment news, to both Ella Langley and Megan Moroney, although he has denied a relationship with both. He recently celebrated his second No. 1 single with Langley, with “Don’t Mind If I Do.” The song, the title track of Green’s latest album, followed “You Look Like You Love Me,” which just won three new CMA Awards at the 2025 ceremony.

“I’ve kind of looked at it like, anything that points people towards my music or finding out who I am or whatever, is probably a good thing,” Green says. “There’s a strange interest in my personal life over the last year or so, without me saying or really doing anything. They come up with all these hypotheses themselves, so it’s fun for me to sit here and watch. And all my buddies get entertainment, my family, they all get entertainment by seeing these speculations about who I’m dating or what I’m doing. And if it introduces somebody to my music, I guess it’s all right.”

Riley Green Hints At Another Duet With Ella Langley

Green understands why fans like his songs with Langley so much, and also why they want to link them romantically as well.

“You don’t see it a lot anymore,” Green explains on Country Countdown USA. “I think that’s what drew fans to these songs. You want to believe the lyrics are true. Us writing and performing these songs, it came easy for us. We’re both from Alabama. We had a lot of the same influences.”

With two duets together already, Green isn’t opposed to a third collaboration with Langley.

“It would be really difficult not to try to do another song with Ella because that’s really worked well,” Green says. Green goes on to say that, while he is open to the idea, he wants any song that he does with any artist to take happen organically.

“I think any collaboration that I do has got to be something that’s really organic,” Green says.  “Just somebody that I have a relationship with, somebody I’m friends with, somebody I’m a fan of, and has the same musical inspirations that I do. I think me and Ella grew up the same way, and I think fans can tell when it’s real. There’s certainly some collaborations that go through management and labels and the proper channels, and I’ve never done it that way. It’s always been somebody I’m friends with that says, ‘Hey, I like this song. Wanna be a part of it?’”
