Parker McCollum recently announced that he and his wife, Hallie Ray, are expecting their second child, also a boy. McCollum announced the news on social media, revealing that their one-year-old son, Major, would soon be a big brother.
“We’re excited,” McCollum says on SiriusXM’s The Highway. “I know Hallie Ray is really excited. Watching our wild animal run around the house right now, I’m like, ‘Are we really about to do this again?’ And we absolutely are. We’ve just been so freaking blessed. I mean, the career has been awesome, and the family is healthy. And you know Major, our little man we got right now is just the freaking brightest light in the world, and setting the bar high for number two.”

What Parker McCollum Says About His Wife, Hallie Ray
Pregaancy can wreak havoc on a woman’s body, but not for Hallie Ray. McCollum praises his wife for how well she is handling her second pregnancy, saying she doesn’t really change much “physically or emotionally.”
“Thank you, Lord,” McCollum says. “She’s pretty steady. She’s a steady head. Same exact person every single day. She needs about an hour in the morning to get the juices flowing. I’m a morning person. It’s even before my eyes open. Every morning of my life, before my eyes even open, my brain’s going. I’m a thousand thoughts. But literally, I will lay there; I’ll wake up before I open my eyes, have a thousand thoughts in my head. She’s about an hour after she wakes up before she’s really kicked into gear.
“But she is the exact same person every single day,” he boasts. “She is my constant. Opposites attracted there for sure. I’m all over the place. I’m nine different people before I get out of the shower in the morning. And she is just steady. I mean, you can’t rattle her.”
The “What Kinda Man” singer also reveals that, unlike a lot of pregnant women, she doesn’t have any weird cravings.
Not really,” McCollum reveals. “Not crazy strong ones. I think she would say, ‘Oh, I have a craving,’ just because she wanted something a little dirty or sweet, a little naughty treat like maybe a vanilla Dr. Pepper or whatever have you. But no, not anything too out of the ordinary or over the top. I mean, she’s just like her dad. She is just as cool as one can be all day, every day.”
What Parker McCollum Says About Being a Husband and Father
McCollum loves being a singer and a songwriter. But his favorite roles are being a husband to Hallie Ray, and a father to Major, and soon his second child.
“The dad thing is as much fun as I’ve ever had,” McCollum tells CMT. “Just being a family man, and going home and having [Major] and Hallie Ray there, it’s pretty special to get to miss them and then get to go home and they’re there. That’s a lot of fun.”
“Watching Hallie Ray be a mom, which is way harder than being a dad, at least at this point, it’s really impressive,” he adds. “It’s been a special time for us.”
