Lauren Alaina Speaks Out Against Body Shamers: 'Do Better'

Lauren Alaina is speaking out against body shamers. In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Alaina slams those who criticize other women’s bodies online.

“I am literally so mad right now, I’m seething. … We’ve got to change the way we’re talking about women on social media,” Alaina begins. “A few weeks ago, I saw a TikTok of me up on stage, singing. And all the comments were about my weight. I’m eight and a half months post-partum, by the way. People were saying that my tour needed to be sponsored by Ozempic, and just horrible things. And it really affected me. I am in recovery from an eating disorder that I battled for a very long time. This has really upset me. And I know better, and I’m fine, but I’m also just ticked.”

Alaina goes on to say that she just saw a video of a “young beautiful artist,” who was also the subject of negative comments about her weight and her body.

“She is literally taking over the world right now, and people were commenting and saying she needs Ozempic,” Alaina reveals. “I mean, she is perfectly trim and fit, and very healthy, and looks amazing, and probably feels amazing because she should. And they’re saying that about her. So it just really ticked me off.”

Lauren Alaina Speaks Out About Motherhood

Alaina also cites being a mother to her daughter, Beni Doll, as a reason she is not fiercely fighting those who have the audacity to speak about other women’s bodies online.

“I have an eight-month-old daughter, and we can’t talk about women this way,” Alaina says. “This is bull crap. And if you are a woman out there, and people are commenting on your body and saying this, myself included, we got to ignore that, and we all need to be better. This is crazy.”

Alaina captions the post by saying, “We need to retire the obsession with women’s bodies. If you care about the music…talk about the music. If you don’t…. well, that’s fine too. But this culture of speculating about women’s bodies? It’s tired. Do better.”

Alaina and her husband, Cam Arnold, welcomed Beni Doll in June. Being a mother changed everything for the talented singer.

“It is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Alaina says on the Bobby Bones Show. “And everyone says that. … When they hand you that baby, your whole life changes. I guess my favorite part is the way she looks at me. I’ve never had someone look at me like that.”

“She’s completely dependent on me,” she continues. “What a gift that I get to be the one that can nurture her and take care of her. My second favorite is probably watching my husband with her. I love him so much more. And I already loved him, but watching him father her is pretty special.”

Alaina wraps up her run with Rascal Flatts on their 2026 Life Is A Highway Tour  this weekend.
