Chris Young is sharing more details about Famous Friends, his new Nashville bar. After announcing the news last week, the Tennessee native reveals more about what Famous Friends will be like.
“It’s meant to be a true sports bar, and just sort of a vibey place to hang out,” he says, per a press release. “I’ve talked about doing it for years. This, for me, was just a passion project. It’s been on my mind for years now. I’ve been looking for the right place, and I just happened to find it.”
A sports fanatic, Young promises that there will be something for everyone at Famous Friends, a bar he named after his single with Kane Brown, released in 2020.
“I want people to be able to go in there, enjoy whatever their game is,” Young explains. “Whether if they’re an Eagles fan, I want you to be able to have your game on and watch your game and talk crap to each other, but be polite and just have a good time. Good vibes is really a thing that I’m aiming for for this place, because if you call a place Famous Friends and you listen to that song, what is that all about? It’s all about people that are different. They all do different things, but I want a place for everybody to be able to hang out and just enjoy themselves.”

The Location for Chris Young’s Famous Friends Bar
The location of Famous Friends is at 1516A Demonbreun Street, part of Nashville’s popular Midtown neighborhood.
“Demonbreun is definitely a place that I spent a lot of time,” the singer explains. “I’ve walked up and down that street going to and from writes a billion times. I’ve seen people on their way up as artists playing in a lot of those spots over there. They’ve changed a lot over the years, but it’s a place where I’ve got a lot of great memories.”
What Chris Young’s Famous Friends Bar Will Look Like
Young has yet to reveal an opening date for Famous Friends. But he does reveal what the bar will look like inside, which lends to the overall experience Young wants guests at Famous Friends to have.
”They call it a shotgun style bar because it’s like a rectangle,” Young shares. “It’s longer than it is wide. It’s one floor, but it’s meant to be a true sports bar, and just sort of a vibey place to hang out. I’ve talked about doing it for years. This, for me, was just a passion project. It was just something else — not that I’m not already as busy as I could possibly be — I decided I wanted to do one more thing. But it’s been on my mind for years now. I’ve been looking for the right place, and I just happened to find it.
“A lot of people go to that area and just hang out,” he continues. “I wanted to be able to offer something a little bit different, and also have a place where maybe we’ll throw some No. 1 parties there. Maybe we’ll have some private events there. Maybe we’ll do a little bit of everything, but also have a place specifically for me, just my love of music and my love of sports. That’s going to be the walls of this place.”
