Luke Combs‘ wife, Nicole, is opening up about the harrowing details surrounding the birth of the couple’s third son, Chet Wiley. The couple announced his arrival on February 19, his due date, although they have yet to disclose his birthday.
Nicole, who also shares three-year-old Tex and two-year-old Beau with Luke, reveals that Chet’s arrival came earlier than anticipated. In a Q&A on her socials, Nicole reveals details of the infant’s arrival.
“I went in for a routine appointment, had to immediately go to the hospital for an emergency induction, had bebe Chet a few hours later,” Nicole writes. She also shares surprise at how part of her delivery experience went, even though Chet is the couple’s third child.
“Also was nobody going to tell me that pitocin contractions feel like you’re in a trash compactor?” she writes. “My epidural wore off and I was in SHOCK. Way more painful than natural labor…like does not compare.”

Luke and Nicole Combs’ Family
Luke and Nicole will celebrate six years of marriage later this year. In spite of Luke’s massive fame, the singer and his wife try to give their children as normal a childhood as possible.
“I want my kids’ childhood to feel as normal as it can, given the very strange circumstances that it will ultimately become,” Luke shares on the MeatEater podcast (via Country Now). “That’s a choice you have to make. And you lose a lot of things with that in the sense of like, there’s so many cool opportunities that I have that maybe would be really, not really beneficial, but cool experiences or beneficial to my career that I pass on to do that for my kids.”
“It’s not something I’m bragging [about], like ‘I’m such a good dad,’” he adds. “It’s not that. It’s just, I say this all the time, but my kids didn’t ask to be born. It was my choice to bring them into the world. So to me, it’s my duty.”
Not only do Luke and Nicole not give in to the superstar lifestyle, but they remain very hands-on as parents, without any outside childcare.
“[It’s] about as regular as it can get. Wake up, get the kids up, cook breakfast,” Luke says on Country Nights Live. “Go play outside. Cook lunch. Nap time. That’s pretty much it.”
Luke took time off in 2025, where he was very much a hands-on dad.
“I’m in there. I’m just in the mix,” luke reveals. “I’m ripping diapers and doing baths. There’s nothing I’m afraid to do. There’s nothing that’s beneath me, or whatever you want to call it. I just truly am full-time – if I’m not on the road, I’m just literally a stay-at-home dad.”
