Luke Bryan Shares the Story Behind His New Single, 'Country and She Knows It'

Luke Bryan is speaking out about his new single, “Country and She Knows It”. The song, from a forthcoming new album, is written by Josh Miller, Parker Welling, and Matt Dragstrem.

“As I gear up for touring season and summer, I really wanted to focus on releasing a song that felt fun and energetic, and the moment the writers sent this one, I knew it was it,” Bryan says. “I have always tried to have the mindset to wake up and approach every day as a good day. So being able to share that way of life through my music is something I am honestly grateful for. Can’t wait to look out and see the crowds out of their seat, and bonus if a little dancing is going on.”

“Country and She Knows It” was the most-added at country radio when it was released. The song says in part, “She country and she knows it / Everybody in here does too / Body like a river just rollin’ / Tall boots stepping like one, two, one, two / It don’t matter where she going / Roots run deep but they can’t hide / That girl’s country and she knows it / And she knows she’s got this country boy tonight / Alright.

Luke Bryan Reveals Why He Recorded “Country and She Knows It”

Bryan is a talented songwriter, penning several of his own hits. Still, he knew as soon as he heard “Country and She Knows It” that it was perfect for his new record.

“‘Country and She Knows It’ is just about fun,” Bryan says. “It’s about telling stories of girls that are just in their element, being themselves, and how us guys get wrapped up in it. And I just think it’s a great song to kick the summer off and see everybody out there dancing, especially the country girls.”

Luke Bryan Looks Ahead After Celebrating His 32nd No. 1 Single

“Country and She Knows It” comes after Bryan celebrated his 32nd No. 1 single in 2025, with  “Country Song Came On.” The song is from his 2024 Mind of a Country Boy album. The success only propels Bryan to work harder than ever before.

“Anytime I’m having a big party on stage, and watching fans have fun, and escape the stress of their lives,” the 49-year-old ttells Billboard, explaining why he liked “Country Song Came On” so much. “I got a special place for party songs.”

Perhaps no one is more surprised than Bryan that, almost two decades after his 2007 “All My Friends Say” debut single, he is still having so much success.

“[I’m] still selling out concerts and learning that what I say on stage is on TikTok the next day,” Bryan quips. “So I gotta get a little better … I’m just enjoying every aspect of my career. I still love trying to be a better singer, songwriter and performer. And then the main thing is, get out there and try to keep having hits, and bringing the fans in.”
