Zach Top is nominated for an impressive five ACM Awards. Top is nominated for Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, for Ain’t In It For My Health, Song of the Year, both as artist and songwriter, for “I Never Lie,” and Single of the Year, also for “I Never Lie.”
Of all of his nominations, there is one that Top would like to win the most.
“There are definitely some awards that are a little more coveted, and especially the Album of the Year for me, because [it’s] the whole body of work,” Top tells the Academy of Country Music. “It’s fun to have the whole picture be appreciated that much, and that people want to give you the kudos or the pat on the back that, hey, we love this whole thing. Whether there were a couple of hits off it or whatever, the whole body of work we thought was great. So, [I’m] really proud of that, really thankful for that.”
Top is no stranger to winning awards. He already has one Grammy, one ACM Award, and a CMA Award. But for Top, being recognized for his hard work never gets old.
“It’s fun,” Top says. “We got to win the Grammy already for the Traditional Country Album, so I was very proud of that record when I made it and when we put it out. But it’s been fun since getting kind of the nod of approval from the different industry powers that be at award shows, that they think it was something worth celebrating as well. So, really, really excited about that.”

How Zach Top Found Out He Was Nominated For 5 ACM Awards
Top trails only Megan Moroney, Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley, Lainey Wilson, and Chris Stapleton in the number of ACM Awards nominations. It’s an impressive feat that he almost missed finding out about, via his manager, until later, because the day the nominations were announced, Top was heading to the Masters.
“I’m glad he caught me before we went out there,” Top says. “He called me that morning. I was literally about to get in the car and leave my phone at the house. You can’t have your phone or nothing [at the Masters]. And he’s like, ‘We’re up for five.’ And I was like, ‘Dang, that’s amazing! What five are they?’ And then he started making up dumb award names. I can’t remember what they were.
“But anyway, they sneak up on me every time because I know when the award show is,” he continues. “I know when that date’s coming. But the nominations I always forget what day they’re coming out, so it’s always a fun little surprise. [It] catches me off guard, and it’s fun when we’re up for a few. It’s a nice little pick me up to start a day.”
