Blake Shelton is explaining the video for his latest single, “Let Him In Anyway.” The song, written by Hardy, Zach Abend, Kyle Clark, and Carson Wallace, is on his latest For Recreational Use Only record.
The video features Shelton singing “Let Him In Anyway” in a church. It’s a simple approach that is much different than the video for his last hit single, “Stay Country or Die Tryin’.”
“It’s one of those songs that really kind of speaks for itself lyrically, so we didn’t want to do anything too over the top with the video,” Shelton explains. “We got this beautiful church here, and just kind of let the lyric speak for itself and not try to rewrite the song. Just put it in a place where people can listen to what the song is about, ’cause it’s very powerful.”
What Blake Shelton Says About ‘Let Him In Anyway’
Shelton has released very few faith-based songs. But he knew as soon as he heard “Let Him In Anyway” that he wanted to record it. The song says, “Hey, God / I know You know what I’m ’bout to pray, God / I just had to suck it up and say goodbye to my best friend / And I don’t ever wanna never see him again / And I know the only way to get in is through You / And he wasn’t quite the Christian he was supposed to be / And Lord, it ain’t my place / But could You let him in anyway?”
“‘Let Him In Anyway’ is one of the more powerful lyrics and just overall pieces of music that I’ve ever gotten a chance to work on,” Shelton says.
“I’ve just never heard a song quite like it,” he adds. “I don’t think this song has ever been written before or anything like it. Whenever I heard it and got a chance to record it, I absolutely was honored, and I’m really proud of the record that we made on it.”
Blake Shelton Hints At More New Music in 2026
For Recreational Use Only came out in 2025, but Shelton hints there might be more to release before he moves on to his next record.
“When I made this album, I made way more music than I needed,” Shelton reveals on Country Countdown USA. “I held on to some of it. I’m thinking one day you and I will be sitting here again like we are today. If they tell me they’re gonna do a deluxe version, I have just what they need right here.”
For Recreational Use Only also includes “Texas,” his 30th chart-topping hit.
