Brett Young and his wife, Taylor, have been married since 2018. They are also parents of two girls, six-year-old Presley and four-year-old Rowan. Although he is fully devoted to his career as a country artist, Brett admits his favorite roles are being a husband and father, especially with Taylor by his side.
“She’s the best mom in the world. And watching them turn into little people that are kind of her and kind of me…” Brett boasts to Us Weekly, adding that his daughters are also becoming “comfortable in their own skin.”
“They’re old enough that they’re actually doing things now,” he adds. “They have skills, and they’re excited about stuff.”
It’s been ten years since Brett’s debut single, “Sleep Without You,” was released. With hit after hit at country radio, not to mention a successful touring career, some might think that he and Taylor live a lavish, jet-setting lifestyle, although their reality is very, very different.
“We’re very family-oriented,” Taylor reveals. “I feel like our neighborhood has a lot of fun family things to do. We run around outside [and visit the] golf course, all the things.”
Even with Young on the road so much, Taylor loves this chapter in their lives the most.
“I really think I’m living the absolute best days of my life,” Taylor says. “And so, I cherish every moment. For me, that’s kind of where I’m at.”

Brett and Taylor famously dated, then broke up, before getting back together and getting married eight years ago. Taylor and Brett’s daughters are woven in throughout much of his music, with songs like “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Lady,” and more.
“I got to write about meeting her, then breaking up with her, then marrying her. And now it’s really about being old married people [who] have little babies at home,” Brett says. “You’re not gonna do anything more meaningful in your whole life than raising children.”
Brett Young Quits Drinking To Become the Best Version Of Himself
Brett no longer drinks alcohol at all, just one of the many ways he is focusing on being the best husband and father he can be.
“It was at the end of 2023 where I went, ‘You know what? I don’t feel like I’m doing everything I can to be around for my family as long as possible and be the best version of me and the healthiest version of me as I can for these little kids,’” Brett tells People. “I made a lifestyle decision to make a change and to prioritize my health. And it’s been wonderful. It shows up on the body, but it’s been incredible for mental health.”
Although it wasn’t easy at the time, now the 45-year-old is grateful he completely cut alcohol out of his life.
“It was a huge transition,” Brett concedes. “I wasn’t one of these people that had an addiction or anything like that, so it wasn’t me going through a process of letting go of alcohol, but it always seemed to be there to take the edge off or calm the nerves a bit. You don’t really realize you’re relying on it because it’s so baked into the culture.”
