Alexandra Kay Makes Bold Prediction About Her First No. 1 Song at Country Radio[WATCH]

Alexandra Kay is making a bold prediction about country radio. The singer-songwriter recently. performed a song which she says she firmly believes will be her first chart-topping single.

“If I could share with you guys this song that I truly from my heart believe is going to be my first No. 1 song at country radio,” Kay says. She then sings a song that says in part, “If you pull a trigger aim straight for the heart / If you’re gonna break it, baby, break it bad / Make it so I never want you back / Give me a damn good reason / If you’re leaving, then better leave a scar / Say you never even loved me to begin with / Make me hate you, make me something that I won’t miss / Take it way too far / If you pull that trigger, aim straight for the heart.

Kay, who recently performed another new song at the Grand Ole Opry, has been dropping new songs from her forthcoming next album, her first on BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. Among the songs Kay has released are “Cupid’s a Cowgirl,” “The Last,” “Better Off,” and “Feminine Energy,” a feel-good track she dropped due to fan demand.

Kay is grateful to have the support of a record label, after working so hard as an independent artist.

“It’s been an absolute joy to work with them on this project,” Kay tells Entertainment-Focus. “They are so caring and they really put the artist first, which is not something every label does. A lot of people [said], ‘Oh, you were so independent for so long and you waved that flag so high,’ and I did. But it’s been cool to have this incredible team that will push me to the next level now.”

A title or release date for Kay’s album has yet to be revealed, but she does hint it will be in 2025.

“It will definitely be out by the end of the year,” Kay hints to Entertainment-Focus. “In a couple of months, you guys will start hearing more about the actual details of it. The writing is all done, and so anything that I write now will be saved for something like a deluxe version or maybe even the next record – who knows.”

“The Last” is inspired by Kay’s romance with her band member, Rocko Beall, whom she began dating after her heartbreaking divorce from Indiana Touchette.

“I was talking about how I was in a new relationship, and I was very happy and am still in that relationship,” Kay tells Country Now. “And the one thing that always kind of stayed in the back of my mind is, I really hope that me having some of these life experiences before him doesn’t sour them for him at some point in life.

“And so that was kind of just the conversation we were having,” she continues. “And we just started talking about how we wanted to write a song about how it doesn’t matter anything that’s happened prior to this. It’s like life starts now with you and it doesn’t matter what happened first as long as I do that last with you.”
