What Colbie Caillat Says About ‘This Time Around’

Caillat’s This Time Around record includes songs she previously recorded, this time as collaborations with some of her favorite artists.

Chris Young’s New ‘I Didn’t Come Here To Leave’ Album

Young also has a new album coming out soon. Young will release I Didn’t Come Here To Leave on October 17. The record, his first on  Black River Entertainment, is coming out on his eighth anniversary of being inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. I Didn’t Come Here To Leave is Young’s tenth studio album, and the one he is eager to share with the world.

“On a record, a lot gets made of how many tempos and how many ballads, as opposed to just making a record from top to bottom that you’ve fallen in love with – but that’s all I’ve ever tried to do,” Young explains. “I look at this album and there are songs that make you want to buy a beer, and there’s songs that if you broke up with somebody, you’re going to want to cry. For different reasons, I feel like this is a complete album – and it would be a disservice to Black River if I didn’t turn in something I believed in this way.”

Chris Young’s “‘Til the Last One Dies” Single

Young has a Top 35 single with “‘Til the Last One Dies.” The song is written by Ben Hayslip, Seth Mosley, and Jordan Walker.

“I haven’t really done a true wedding-style love song for many, many years, surprisingly,” Young tells Audacy. “I’ve had some ballads out there, but not one that has this kind of impact. And I just got in the studio, and it just came to life. So it was a really, really easy process once we found this song.”

Young knew as soon as he heard “‘Til the Last One Dies” that he wanted to include it on his project, even though he isn’t a writer on it.

“I had a friend pitch me the song,” Young tells iHeart. “This is one of the few that’s on the record that I was not a co-writer on, but got a chance to sing it and produce it with my buddy, Andy [Sheridan]. I think if I was going to say why I was drawn to this song, not only is it a very new way to say ‘I love you’ to somebody in song form,. My favorite line is the line leading up to the hook, saying that he bought  ‘A dozen roses …11 real ones, one fake one, and I’ll love you ’til the last one dies.’”
