Ella Langle is bravely opening up about her struggles with mental health. The recent five-time ACM Awards winner admits it has been an ongoing battle, in spite of her recent successes.
“I won’t lie, this last week has been probably one of the toughest mental health weeks I’ve had in a long time,” Langley tells Audacy. “Which is crazy because so many good things are happening, so many things I’ve prayed for, and dreamed about. It’s just a struggle. It’s just the disease of my family, really.”
Langley admits that she struggled during ACM Awards week especially because of her multiple nominations, including being nominated for Female Artist of the Year alongside Lainey Wilson.
“I think it’s important to talk about it and to share that just because I might seem like on the top of the mountain right now, it doesn’t look like that all the time,” the 26-year-old says. “Also, it’s okay to be two things. I was just actually talking to Lainey and Miranda about this and my impostor syndrome, like ‘What do you mean? How can I be in the same category as you two? That doesn’t make sense to me.’ I think it’s just about being grateful.
“I think at the end of the day, just spinning it back on being grateful for what God’s given me and the place that I get to be in,” she adds. “Hopefully my honesty and realness, some little girl or little boy who wants to do this gets to see that. It is tough, but tough things are worth going through if you want them bad enough.”

Langley not only won the most ACM Awards this year, but she also made history in the process. Not since Chris Stapleton in 2015 has a first-time nominee walked away with five ACM Awards.
“I’m at a loss for words, which, if you’ve ever met me before, you know that’s very hard to do,” Langley said backstage after her win. “Just grateful. Grateful is just the word I keep saying. It’s all I can say, really.”
Langley won New Female Artist of the Year, ahead of the live ceremony. After receiving the news, from Lambert, Langley was emotional at receiving the industry honor.
“Every day of my life, I’ve prayed about this and thought about it,” Langley said through tears. “Literally, everything I’ve ever done was to do this. I’m so grateful for the team I have around me. I’m just really grateful to have fans that are listening to the music, and see that it is truth, and that I’m just a real life human being going through life like the rest of everyone else. To see that the things that I go through is something that everyone else goes through. But this is … thank you.”
Langley currently has a Top 10 hit with “Weren’t For the Wind.” Find all of her music and upcoming shows at EllaLangley.com.
