Ella Langley‘s Dandelion album is out. The record, the follow-up to her 2024 freshman Hungover project, shows growth, maturity, and Langley’s unwavering belief in herself.
“As far as me as a songwriter goes, I’ve never poured more of myself into a project, into a song, into an idea,” Langley says in a video shared on social media. “This record has fallen out so beautifully; the people I’ve gotten to work with on this record are absolutely insane. It kind of takes me back home to Alabama, back home to where I started. It’s a thought that came in my head, and all of a sudden, it’s real life.”

What Ella Langley Says About ‘Dandelion’
Langley co-wrote most of the songs on Dandelion, including her massive “Choosin’ Texas” single. A multi-week crossover No. 1 hit, the song is just one indication of how much Langley has evolved since Hungover.
“We are further down the road in every way, and my songwriting has elevated so much,” Langley boasts to Hits Daily Double. “This one’s a little lighter, and the melodies have really grown. I think Hungover to Dandelion was just me waking up in bed, hungover, showering off, and starting it all over the next day.”
Langley’s influences are eclectic, including everyone from Frank Sinatra to Stevie Nicks to Depeche Mode and more. But when creating Dandelion, she looked to two of her country music heroes to bring the project to life.
“What was important to me was how it felt,” Langley says. “What Johnny Lee and Ronnie Milsap songs felt like, what they had in their music, those big melodies, that’s what I wanted. For the live show, but also something you can put on and cook dinner, listen when you’re vibing or fishing in the pond, just driving.”
Ella Langley Explains Why Miranda Lambert Produced ‘Dandelion’
Miranda Lambert co-wrote “Choosin’ Texas,” along with “Butterfly Season,” a duet between the two singers. But Lambert is also a producer on Dandelion, hand-picked by Langley to be part of the entire project.
“I felt the call to ask her to executive produce,” Langley says. “The amount of things she’s walked me through, because she’s been through so many of these things already… I’m not good about turning ‘it’ on. I’m not fake, and I don’t really control it.”
Langley is tied with Lainey Wilson as the third most-nominated artist leading up to the 2026 ACM Awards, with seven nods. Lambert is the second-most nominated, trailing only Megan Moroney, with eight nominations. The show will air on May 17, at 8:00 PM ET on Prime Video.
