Ella Langley Shares Details of New 'Dandelion' Album

Ella Langley is sharing details of her sophomore Dandelion album. Out on April 10, the new record includes her recent history-making single, ““Choosin’ Texas,” the title track, and more.

Dandelion, co-produced by Miranda Lambert, comes after Langley’s 2024 Hungover debut. Much has changed since Hungover was released for Langley, who is now one of country music’s reigning superstars. It’s a confidence she says will be evident in the songs on Dandelion.

“I’m not guessing anymore. I’m not chasing anything. I’m not trying to be anything,” Langley tells Audacy. “This record is exactly what I wanted out of it, and it is just me. And I feel like this is gonna be my record where everyone’s gonna be like, ‘That’s where the artistry clicked for her.'”

Langley co-wrote all of the songs on Hungover. But with her new set of tunes, Langley felt the freedom that can only come from being part of one of country music’s biggest success stories.

“None of these songs, I felt like I was banging my head against the wall to get it written,” Langley reveals. “I genuinely was dancing around the room writing these. They’re so exciting. Then some of them are so heartfelt and really explain who I am as a person. I think if you have never heard an interview of mine, if you’ve never seen me live, don’t know anything about me, you’d know about me if you’d listen to this record. It’s so personal in that way.”

What Ella Langley Says About Her Success After “Choosin’ Texas”

Not only did “Choosin’ Texas” become a No. 1 single, but it topped Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, and the all-genre Hot 100 chart at the same time, making her the first female artist to top all three charts simultaneously.

Langley wrote “Choosin’ Texas” with Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor. Although she knew she liked it when they wrote it, she never imagined it would be the song that changes her life.

“The funniest thing people ask me, ‘And did you expect this?’ I’m like, ‘Did I expect to make history? No,'” Langley says. “You hope for the best, but you can’t predict that. You can love what you do and put out the best of what you got, and that’s exactly what we did. I think it’s just because we put our heart in that song, and that’s the theme throughout this record.”

Ella Langley’s Excitement For Her Sophomore ‘Dandelion’ Album

Fans are excited for Langley’s full Dandelion album to be released. But perhaps no one is as excited as Langley, who has poured everything she has into the project.

“Keep working hard and doing everything I possibly can to make my dreams come true,” Langley tells People of the message she would give a younger version of herself. “Every show I’ve played, and every song I’ve written, has led me to this moment of releasing Dandelion, and it means the world to me to do what I love and tell my story.”

Langley is especially excited to be able to have Lambert so involved in the record, something she once would have never imagined would be possible.

“I’ve looked up to Miranda Lambert for as long as I’ve known who she was,” Langley says. “And she’s somebody who I would just love to write a song with. So getting the chance to write ‘Choosin’ Texas’ with her, and a couple other songs off this record, it was just one of the coolest things. I mean, who gets to do something they dreamed about as a little kid. I was like, that little kid got to come out and experience it that day, so it was awesome.”
