Jason Aldean Drops New Single, Extends Full Throttle Tour

New music is here from Jason Aldean! The singer just dropped “How Far Does A Goodbye Go,” from his next album. The song, written by frequent collaborators Kurt Allison, John Edwards, Tully Kennedy and John Morgan, follows “Whiskey Drink,” which was Aldean’s 30th No. 1 hit.

Surprisingly, Aldean doesn’t yet know what his new record will be called.

“It doesn’t have a title yet,” Aldean admits on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. “I literally just turned it in to the label a couple of weeks ago.”

Aldean does say the record will be deeply personal, especially one of the song’s on the project.

“Some family stuff … My mother’s brother, my uncle, passed away with Lewy body dementia in the last year,” he says, speaking of one song on the record. “And [we’ve] got another family member that’s dealing with that kind of thing. So we’ve got some songs we wrote, talking about that.”

What Jason Aldean Says About His New Album

Aldean hints he has a few guests on his new record, which comes after his 2023 Highway Desperado.

“It’s been a cool project,” Aldean previously told Taste of Country. “A lot of songs. Couple duets in there too, so it’s gonna be pretty cool … There’s a couple of songs in the works that I know are going to be duets. Then there’s one, maybe two that we still kind of haven’t found our partner for that yet.”

What Jason Aldean Says About Having 30 No. 1 Hits

Aldean’s first No. 1 hit is “Why,” out in 2005. In the two decades since then, Aldean has landed at the top of the charts with hits like “She’s Country,” “Night Train,” “You Make It Easy,” and more.

“30 number ones is a huge milestone, and I couldn’t let it go by without thanking the fans, country radio, the songwriters, BMG and the best promo team in the business,” Aldean said when “Whiskey Drink” hit No. 1. “I appreciate all the support we have gotten from everyone over the last 20 years. And, I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon; so, I’m working hard on getting this next round of music out and can’t wait to share it soon.”
