Kane Brown is opening up about his challenges with his own mental health. Brown has been vocal about his own struggles, which are evident in a clip of a new song.
In an Instagram Story posted earlier this week, Brown shared part of the unreleased song, captioning it by saying, “This was during my dark days before these last couple months of my life turning around. I wondered if when I was gone if I would be in the spirit world and what would I do. Who would be at my funeral at then end of the day after all of this.”.
@kanebrownI posted this short clip as a story, but the love it’s getting means so much ❤️ If this song speaks to you, I just want you to know—money and fame don’t bring true happiness. Sure, they can fix some problems, but then what? Real happiness comes from the people around you—and even then, it’s still possible to feel low. I just hope this reaches whoever needs it.♬ original sound – Kane Brown
The song says in part, “Could I go back in time / Who would I say goodbye to / Who would I run back to / When the sun shines down / All my friends gather ’round / Underneath that weeping willow / Who would I see, who would I be / Where would I go / Where would I go.”
Brown opens up about the song in a video shared on TikTok.
“I posted this short clip as a story, but the love it’s getting means so much,” Brown writes. “If this song speaks to you, I just want you to know – money and fame don’t bring true happiness. Sure, they can fix some problems, but then what?
“Real happiness comes from the people around you – and even then, it’s still possible to feel low,” he continues. “I just hope this reaches whoever needs it.”

The changes Brown refers to over the last few months are likely his physical changes. Brown has been posting about his health transformations, including recently sharing a side-by-side photo of Brown from April 1 to July 4.
“April 1st – July 4th. I’ve never been more motivated,” Brown writes. “The real fight is with yourself — every time I want to quit, I keep going. And the next day, I push even harder. If I slip, I hold myself accountable and come back stronger. Let’s get better. Once you start seeing results, there’s no turning back. You feel better, look younger, sleep deeper, and your mood shifts. Discipline builds everything. Let’s keep going.”
Brown doesn’t share all of his secrets for losing weight and getting healthier. But he did reveal in April that he lost 16 pounds in two weeks by giving up sugar and gluten.
The father of three has a song, “Haunted,” on his latest The High Road album. Brown sings the song with Jelly Roll, about Brown’s own mental health.
“I hope it will give awareness to other people,” Brown tells American Songwriter. “One of the main things is actually talking about it. If you don’t talk about it, that’s what makes it dangerous. If nobody knows, nobody can help you.”
