Keith Urban just released live versions of some of the songs from his latest HIGH album, out last year. The live versions are on the deluxe edition of HIGH, recorded while Urban was on his High and Alive World Tour, which just concluded.
The live versions of songs on the deluxe version of HIGH are “Straight Line,” “Messed Up As Me,” “Go Home W U,” “Chuck Taylors,” “Heart Like A Hometown,” and Laughin’ all The Way To The Drunk.”
A live album is likely still coming from Urban, since “‘Til Summer Comes Around” and “Long Hot Summer,” which he already released, are not included on the deluxe version of HIGH.
What Keith Urban Says About His New Music
Urban recently revealed he is working on not one, but two new projects.
“We have a live album coming out sometime this year,” Urban reveals on Country Countdown USA. “I’ve never done one. It’s kind of crazy. We felt on this tour, it was feeling musically special, the crowd energy was really special, so let’s start capturing some of these and see if we can do an album.”
“I’ve been writing quite a bit,” he adds “I’ve been recording quite a bit. I’m looking forward to getting back into the studio. That’s what I do. I don’t have hobbies. I love music. That’s what I do.”

Keith Urban’s 2024 ‘HIGH’ Album
Urban has been vocal about his HIGH record, which is the result of him scrapping and starting over again, after finishing another record. After starting over to make the album he wanted to make, HIGH became a feel-good project that is exactly what Urban wanted it to be.
“I love how many interpretations go through a person’s head when they hear that word (High), and they’re all spot on,” Urban explains. “It conjures up different things to different people, from a mountain top to just feeling phenomenal to a Willie Nelson concert, to whatever it is that you want to interpret that word to be. For me, they’re all spot on. They’re all spot on. I’ve never named an album after a song, ‘cause I always feel like that’s disrespectful to the other songs on the record. So far, I’ve never done it, and I wanted a good, strong, simple word that captured the energy and the spirit of the record, and that word I started hearing it in all these songs.”
Urban has a Top 20 single with “Straight Line,” the debut single from HIGH, and a song that embodies what Urban wanted to express with the entire project.
“In ‘Straight Line,’ it says, ‘Remember when this kind of high was us, babe?’” Urban says. “‘Daytona’ says ‘Trying to find new highs, but I can’t fight that neon Florida sky.’ ‘Laughin’ All The Way To The Drank’ says ‘I’m on a Friday high, ‘cause I just got paid.’ So, it kept happening all through the record, and I thought, well, the one thing we agree on is that apparently is the destination. That’s where we all want to go to or get to, and how we get there is individual. That’s different for every one of us, how we get there, but we do want to get there. And I thought, well, that’s it. That’s what this record is. It’s HIGH.”
