Kenny Chesney‘s HEART*LIFE*MUSIC book will be out next week. The book, Chesney’s reflection on his historic life and career, will be available on November 4. HEART*LIFE*MUSIC is a way to honor his fans, as well as his road family, many whom have been with him for most of his career.
“I wanted to take a moment, before we move into the next phase, whatever that is, to pay tribute to them, and the life we’ve lived out on the road,” Chesney explains on CBS Sunday Morning. “It’s been beautiful.”
Chesney has been working almost nonstop since his debut In My Wildest Dreams came out in 1994. For Chesney, HEART*LIFE*MUSIC gave him a chance to look back at all he has accomplished, for the first time ever.
“This book forced me to pause, and it forced me to see how fortunate I’ve been, or I am,” the 57-year-old says. “I have so much gratitude for what’s happened to me, it’s unbelievable.”
Taking time to write HEART*LIFE*MUSIC is also a way for Chesney to share his journey with others, giving a new glimpse into the moments that helped get him to where he is today.
“It’s amazing how much there is to say after all the hours we spent working on the book,” Chesney reflects. “But it’s a new way of looking at my music and my life, and I’m really excited to share it with people. For anybody with a dream they don’t quite know how to make happen, this is for you. Because I was that guy, and looking back, I can’t believe everything that’s happened, the friends, the heroes, the dead ends and breakthroughs. But really, it’s the courage to trust yourself – and use that to connect with people who need the music the same way I did.”

Kenny Chesney Praises His Small-Town Upbringing
Little of Chesney’s life, growing up in Luttrell, Tennesssee, indicated the superstar career he would one day have. With a population of around 1000 people, Chesney could have never predicted how far he would go from that tiny town.
“I love how I grew up,” Chesney says. “I love that we leaned on family, we leaned on church, school, sports, girls — that’s all us guys had. But it’s where this dream started too. I didn’t know it at the time. But it’s where the dream started.”
It was while growing up in Luttrell that Chesney had a dream of having a career in country music, much like his musical idols.
“This book tells the story of how a kid just dreaming to dream could swim against the stream, find himself, his heroes, face adversity, bounce back, and keep trying to channel what it means to be alive and in love with living no matter what happens,” the singer says. “And I wanted their story to measure up to their own standards.”
Kenny Chesney Is Inducted Into the Country Music Hall of Fame
HEART*LIFE*MUSIC was finished before Chesney could achieve his biggest milestone: becoming a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Chesney was recently inducted alongside Tony Brown and the late June Carter Cash.
“Being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame last night was the proudest moment of my life,” Chensey writes after the ceremony. “I am humbled and beyond grateful. The love I felt in the room was overwhelming. … “The connection I share with my audience will forever be on display within the rotunda at the Country Music Hall of Fame. I am very proud of that. What an honor to also share this moment with June Carter Cash and Tony Brown. I am so grateful to be a part of such a small, exclusive group. Full of heroes and friends.”
