Kenny Chesney is officially one week away from the opening night of his Live at Sphere Las Vegas residency. The country music superstar will be the first country artist to headline a residency at Sphere, which will also mark his first-ever residency, after decades of selling out massive venues.
But in spite of being in one location. Chesney vows to make the show as memorable for his fans as if he was performing in an outdoor stadium.
“Vegas is too hot to tailgate, so we figured we’d bring as much of it indoors as we can,” Chesney explains. “I hear everybody tailgating way more than they know… So many times, I want to just jump on a gator and come out there for the party. To not have that energy? I think our shows have always started when the parking lot opens, so consider this your chance.
“I’ve been in my warehouse, my journals and my hard drives working on Heart*Life*Music, and I’ve found a lot of things that were too cool to leave at home,” he continues. “To be in one place, I can create a world where many of the pictures, the pieces of the puzzle, even the American Kids bus could be part of what we give you to say, ‘Thanks for being part of this’ before you come to the show.”

As part of the entire Vegas experience, Chesney is offering Guitars, Tiki Bars and a Whole Lotta Love, a two-story space at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, which will feature pictures, passes, license plates, handwritten lyrics, instruments and more, all from Chesney’s more than two decades of selling out stadiums on his tours. The new space will also include a beach bar, called Spread the Love, where fans can gather for a drink, with or without alcohol, and connect with other fans ahead of Chesney’s show.
“So much about how we do what we do is different with Sphere, so I want to make sure people can still have the core experiences,” Chesney says. “Or maybe something that builds from that, creates a whole new way to pre-game, come together and just enjoy all the music we’ve shared whether you’re coming to the show or not.”
The future Country Music Hall of Fame member is determined to give his fans the best experience possible while performing in Las Vegas.
“A lot has happened,” Chesney hints. “When you start creating something like this, you really step back and think about it. And these crazy summers tours, the fun and music made, wouldn’t have happened without No Shoes Nation, so I wanted to pull back the curtain and let them see at least a piece of it.”
