Lainey Wilson’s Top 10 Hit, “Somewhere Over Laredo”
Wilson currently has a Top 10 hit with “Somewhere Over Laredo.” The song, from her latest Whirlwind Deluxe album, is written by Wilson, along with Trannie Anderson, Dallas Wilson and Andy Albert.
“I spend a lot of my time in the air on a plane, headed to the next town, to the next show,” Wilson tells iHeart. “And I catch myself just looking out the window and dreaming, and thinking, and reminiscing, talking to God, writing songs. And I feel like this song right here, it gave me an opportunity to step back into a pair of shoes that I wore years ago, and I got to tell a story from that perspective. And that’s what country music is. It’s about taking you back to a certain time and place, and memory and feeling, and that’s what we wanted to capture in this song right here.”
Jason Aldean’s “How Far Does A Goodbye Go” Single
Like Wilson, Aldean also has a hit at radio right now. The Georgia native just released “How Far Does A Goodbye Go,” from his forthcoming new album, which he has yet to announce. The song is written by Kurt Allison, John Edwards, Tully Kennedy and John Morgan.
“It was just one of those songs that the first time I heard it, obviously I loved the lyric,” Aldean tells Audacy. “I loved the melody, I loved what it was saying. It was something that just seemed like it was tailor-made for us, which it was.”
Aldean also recently announced the release of 30 Number One Hits, a new record celebrating all of his chart-topping singles since his career began.
“30 Number Ones is a huge milestone, and I couldn’t let it go by without thanking the fans, country radio, the songwriters…” Aldean said when “Whiskey Drink” became his 30th No. 1 hit. “I appreciate all the support we have gotten from everyone over the last 20 years. And, I don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon.”
