Lainey Wilson is opening up about having her own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Wilson’s Tough as Nails exhibit will open on July 18, covering her entire life and career, from her early days in Baskin, Louisiana to her current superstar status.
For an artist who has had a lot of success already, having her own exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame is more than a dream come true.
“I cannot believe I have an exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame,” Wilson tells The Tennessean, while inside the Country Music Hall of Fame. “This is insane. That’s just weird even saying that.”
Wilson used to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, when her career looked much, much different than it does now.
“I used to come up here during the week, when I didn’t have any co-writes,” Wilson remembers. “Nobody would write with me, and I would just walk through this building and just take notes and learn. I felt so inspired when I was here, so inspired when I left. It’s really cool to think that maybe another little girl could be walking through here, and feeling inspired to.”
When Tough as Nails was announced, Wilson reflected on her journey that ultimately led her to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

“It’s a dream come true to have my own exhibit in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and such an incredible honor to be included next to so many of my heroes and legendary artists,” Wilson says. “These past few years have been a complete whirlwind, and it’s going to be really amazing to see the whole journey captured in the exhibit, along with some special items from growing up in Louisiana. I can’t wait to see how it turned out and for my family, friends and fans to check it out.”
Included in Tough as Nails will be clothing items, her journal as a 16-year-old, her kindergarten graduation program, and more.
Wilson currently has a Top 30 hit with “Somewhere Over Laredo.” The song is from her forthcoming Whirlwind Deluxe album.
“I’m very proud of this song,” Wilson tells iHeartRadio. “I spend a lot of my time in the air on a plane, headed to the next town, to the next show, and I catch myself just looking out the window and dreaming, and thinking, and reminiscing, talking to God, writing songs. And I feel like this song right here, it gave me an opportunity to step back into a pair of shoes that I wore years ago, and I got to tell a story from that perspective. And that’s what country music is. It’s about taking you back to a certain time and place, and memory and feeling, and that’s what we wanted to capture in this song right here.”
Tough as Nails will remain open through June of 2026. Find all of Wilson’s music and upcoming shows at LaineyWilson.com.
