Lainey Wilson Loves Ella Langley 'Like a Sister,' Vows to Help Her Succeed

Lainey Wilson is proud to support Ella Langley. The Grand Ole Opry member says she wants to help Langley, the way Miranda Lambert once helped her, early in Wilson’s own career.

“I mean, Miranda was that person for me,” Wilson says on Country Nights Live. “And I know that she is also that person for Ella, too. But I just think about the wisdom that people have passed on to me, folks like Miranda and Reba [McEntire] and Wynonna [Judd], and all the ladies. It’s weird. We’ve all experienced the same thing. It’s been completely different times.

“It’s just important,” she continues. “You’ve got to pass on that wisdom. You can’t keep it off for yourself. It’s like these people have been more than willing to just pour loads of wisdom into me. And, I love Ella. She is like a sister, and I just see her, and I think she’s one of the most talented people in this business. And so it’s important for me to check in on her, and just be there for her if she needs me.”

What Lainey Wilson Said About Ella Langley

Ahead of the 2025 ACM Awards, Langley was the most nominated artist, with a total of seven nominations, and no one was prouder of her and her success than Wilson.

“I could not be more thrilled,” Wilson shares with Everything Nash and other outlets, at a recent media event. “I could not be more excited to see it happening to a girl that just knows who she is. She shows up, and she rolls her sleeves up, and she is ready to kick down barn doors. You gotta have that spirit in this business. If you don’t have that spirit, there’s somebody behind you that’s going to have that spirt, and they’re going to knock down that barn door for you. So, she’s one of those.

“I would not be surprised if she comes in there with her broom and starts sweeping it up,” she adds. “And I’d be behind her with a dustpan … I was like, ‘Let’s go.’ I’m glad to see the community really taking notice in somebody who’s just got it. That’s a good feeling, especially as a female in the business. It’s good to see.”

What Ella Langley Said About Lainey Wilson

The love between Wilson and Langley definitely goes both ways. During Langley’s recent appearance on Country Nights Live, Langley revealed how Wilson has been supportive of her since the very beginning.

“She’s exactly how she is,” Langley boasts. ‘We met early on in town, and I actually opened a show for Lainey in 2023. It was before she had her big moment, right before she went on Yellowstone. There weren’t many people there. There were barely 200 people one night, barely 200 people the next night. When you think about what’s happened for both of us now, if we both put on a show together right now, what that room would look like.”
