Lainey Wilson is sharing more details about her new documentary. Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool. The show will premiere on Netflix on April 22, sharing all aspects of Wilson’s life and career.
“It’s one thing to sing about your life, but it’s another to open the door and let people in to watch it unfold,” Wilson shares on social media. “Going into this, I thought I was going to be sharing some things about me and my life nobody knew, but I truly think during the couple years of filming, I figured some things out about myself. I opened the door to my house, my life, my relationships, and things I haven’t allowed many people to see.
“My folks always taught me to make everybody feel at home,” she adds, “so I want y’all to come on in and make yourself at home.”

Lainey Wilson Shares a Preview Of Her Netflix Documentary
In a video clip, Wilson reveals a photo of the night she met Devlin “Duck” Hodges, her fiancé, at a bar called Silverados.
“I was broke,” Wilson recounts. “I was so broke when we met. And he thought I was doing a little bit better than I was. But a few weeks after we met, my sister had to Venmo me a couple hundred bucks.”
Elsewhere in Country’s Cool Again, Wilson recalls her early propensity towards songwriting, long before she imagined where her music would take her.
“I knew whenever I had written my first song that I loved how it made me feel when I was in the middle of writing the song,” she says. “When I was coming up with the idea, feeling like, ‘Man, I created something from nothing. How cool is that?”
This isn’t Wilson’s only appearance on a screen. She is also starring in the Reminders of Him film, out now.
Lainey Wilson’s New ‘Can’t Sit Still’ Single
Wilson just released a new single, “Can’t Sit Still.” The song is the first release from an upcoming new album, the follow-up to Whirlwind and Whirlwind Deluxe.
“When I hear the words ‘can’t sit still,’ I think of me,” Wilson says in a video for Ford Trucks, featuring Wilson and “Can’t Sit Still.” “I would say it’s one of my qualities that I feel like has been one of the things that’s got me where I’m at… When it comes to songwriting and getting creative and things like that, it’s always important for me to try to be one step ahead. This job will keep you moving.”
“My friends would describe me as a suitcase with legs,” she remarks “I never really thought that you could be in ten different places at once, but somehow we make it happen.”
