Lainey Wilson was recently honored at the TIME100 Next Gala. Wilson was included on the list of the World’s Most Influential Rising Stars. During the event, Wilson shared her thoughts on what she has learned since the beginning of her career.
“What I’ve learned is, you can’t rush the growing season,” Wilson says (via American Songwriter). “You just have to keep showing up. You have to keep nurturing your gift. Keep believing that’s what is meant for you, is going to find you when it’s the right time. Stay planted, water your roots. Keep searching for the light, because when your season comes, people will taste the fruit of your faith, and the world will be a better place because of it.”

Miranda Lambert Pays Tribute to Lainey Wilson
Miranda Lambert paid tribute to Wilson when the Time100 names were revealed.
“I’m a huge fan of Lainey Wilson,” Lambert writes. “I heard just a few songs and instantly loved what she is doing. She is such a light. She’s funny and she’s fun, and she has a spirit about her that brings joy to any room she walks in. Knowing her off the stage and on, I feel like I’m looking at the same person all the time. That’s pretty rare. What she does doesn’t define her. Who she is defines her, and that’s real authenticity.
“She lives and breathes songs, and you can see that passion in her eyes; it’s all about the music for her, and she lets the music lead,” she continues. “She’s a legend already—having taken home her first Grammy last year for Bell Bottom Country—and I’m thankful she’s a country artist. I’m really proud of how she represents the lifestyle we both love and the music we both love. She’s out of the gate going 100 miles an hour.”
Lainey Wilson’s Friendship With Miranda Lambert
Wilson grew up idolizing Lambert, which makes their friendship now even sweeter. Wilson recently opened up about her relationship with Lambert, and how Lambert continues to help and inspire her today.
“She’s always been that voice over here, just being like, ‘You can’t do it all. You can’t do it all,’ Wilson tells Southern Living (via People). “You gotta come home, and you gotta saddle your horse, and you gotta make sure that you’re scooping the poop on the farm, and doing all the things that make everything else worth it.’”
Wilson and Lambert have a lot in common besides being in country music. Both are hard workers, who love the Western way of life. They also have a deep love for their home life and their families.
“Also, our love for coming home and planting our feet, and filling our cups back up so we can go back out and pour ’em out,’” Wilson adds.
How Lainey Wilson’s Career Continues to Expand
Wilson is continuing to take her career to new heights. She has a Top 5 single with “Somewhere Over Laredo,” which will likely be her next No. 1 single. She is also making history by hosting the upcoming CMA Awards by herself, marking the first time a female has hosted the show by herself since Reba McEntire did 34 years ago, in 1991.
“I looked it up too, and I was like, there’s no way. I let Reba know I was doing this, and she was so excited,” Wilson says on Rolling Stone‘s Nashville Now podcast. “It’s been a long time since a woman has done it solo. I’m glad they trust me. I like to run my mouth, and I love country music.”
