Lainey Wilson knows what she wants for her upcoming wedding to Devlin “Duck” Hodges. The 33-year-old wants it to be a family affair, surrounded by people who mean the most to her.
“Well, first of all, I just want it to be about what it’s supposed to be about,” Wilson tells People. “I want my family to be there, like my closest family, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food.”
As for the food, Wilson says she will tie into her own heritage.
“Well, I’m from Louisiana, so maybe a little bit of, like, a Cajun flare. My fiancé likes a good steak. So it might just be a mixture,” Wilson reveals.

During a recent media event, the Grand Ole Opry member admitted she still had a lot of planning to do leading up to the big day.
“I got a lot to do,” Wilson says. “Duck’s like, ‘Are we really getting married?’ I’m like, ‘We are. I said, ‘I do, I done, I did. We’re doing it.’ But it’s going good. It’s gonna happen. But we don’t have all the details yet.”
“I’m starting to think about it more now. … I’ve spent a little time on Pinterest,” the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year adds.
Wilson recently revealed that she and Hodges have yet to nail down a date.
“We need to start, that’s the problem,” Wilson tells Us Weekly. “No, it’s funny. I’ve been so busy this year that we’re like, ‘We’re gonna figure it out, for sure.’ He’s such a good dude. He is my best friend. He’s my biggest cheerleader. We lift each other up. He understands that this life is full of a lot of late nights and travel, and we might be ships passing in the night, but he’s always my rock through it all. He’s my home, no matter where we are. I feel like my blood pressure comes down, and he’s a safe place to land. I can just let loose.”

How Lainey Wilson Stays Grounded Amid Her Successful Career
It’s no wonder Wilson hasn’t had time to plan her wedding. The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer is one of country music’s biggest superstars, who is also dabbling in acting, including appearing in the upcoming Reminders of Him film. For Wilson, it’s all about who she surrounds herself with, especially away from the spotlight.
“I got good people around me,” Wilson tells Entertainment Tonight. “Ones that keep me going, keep it real, try to protect me. But you gotta keep your people close, that’s what I’m learning. So I got good folks.”
Wilson is currently working on a new album, the follow-up to her 2024 Whirlwind record, followed by Whirlwind Deluxe in 2025.
