Lauren Alaina had an emotional Father’s Day. The 30-year-old and her husband, Cam Arnold, welcomed their first child, daughter Beni Doll Arnold, into the world on June 11. Alaina marked Arnold in a social media post, in honor of Father’s Day.
“Happy first Father’s Day to my husband,” Alaina writes. “I have always said one of my things that made you the one for me was that I knew you were going to be the best dad ever. I had no idea. Watching you see (crying picture), meet, hold, change, swaddle and love our daughter has transformed my heart and deepened my love for you in a way that I didn’t even know was even possible. Beni is the luckiest little girl in the world. I am the luckiest mom. We love you so much. Thank you for being ours.”
Alaina shares several pictures of the family of three, including of Arnold’s emotional reaction holding his daughter for the first time.

The day was unfortunately bittersweet for Alaina, who also experienced her first Father’s Day without her own father, J.J. Suddeth, who passed away last July. Alaina honored Suddeth with a video of their time together through the years, accompanied by her new song, “Heaven Sent.”
“My first Father’s Day without you,” Alaina writes. “If I could call you up there in Heaven, I would say thank you for sending me my little girl. I would ask you if you’ve learned to play ‘Heaven Sent’ on guitar yet. You would immediately FaceTime me and show me that you have. You would complain to me about how hard the guitar lick in the intro is (blame Hardy for that lol), but you would nail it. Until I can actually talk to you again, I will remember laughing with you, singing with you, fishing with you and throwing you a pinky. Love you, dad.”

Alaina and Arnold were married in February of 2024. The couple did not plan on becoming parents so soon after their wedding, but Alaina believes her father arranged for Alaina to get pregnant earlier than they intended.
“I do think that my dad passed away and got a stair up in heaven, and was like, ‘Hey, we got to work something out down there to send the family something good,’” Alaina tells People. “And it has been such an unexpected blessing. We obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us … like it’s a little piece of my dad that will live on.”
When announcing Beni’s arrival, Alaina also announced the release of “Heaven Sent,” which is out now.
“We learned she was coming in a time of deep sadness after the loss of my daddy,” Alaina writes. “I wasn’t sure when I would share ‘Heaven Sent,’ but watching my own husband become a father the last couple of days has made me want to share it with you now. She came just before Father’s Day. My first without my own father. A day that will forever be hard to me, but I now have a new and perfect reason to celebrate it. Beni’s daddy. My sweet and steady husband. Beni truly is a gift from God that my old man sitting up there in ‘Heaven Sent.'”
