Lorrie Morgan's Husband Randy White Passes Away at 72

Lorrie Morgan is mourning the loss of her husband, Randy White, who has passed away. White was 72 years old when he died on June 1, from mouth cancer.

“Randy has been my partner, my champion and my rock for 17 years,” Morgan says. “Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”

Morgan’s son, Jesse Keith Whitley, posted a touching tribute to White on social media, shortly before White passed away.

“As I sit here in the room with hospice, I don’t know really what to think or to say about this situation,” Whitley writes. “But, I can say that the recent years of my life all the way back to when I was 22-23 years old, this great man has been here and loved my mom , and also me and my sister as we were his own. He showed me love and showed me a relationship with Jesus. Even though I grew up Catholic, I kinda distanced myself a little from it. He has been the best grandfather for my kids they could ever ask for. Has come and picked me up late [at] night when it wasn’t safe to drive and was never mad .. not even once (this happened multiple times lol). Even when I called from a jail cell he laughed at me and said well I’ll be there in a little bit (boy mom was pissed).

“He has shown unconditional love to my mother and been the most gentle soul to ever grace this entire family,” he continues. “As we say our goodbyes , I reminisce of all the good times we have had and the battles he has helped overcome. I can’t tell you the amount of love that has poured in from fans, family and friends. We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan! Rest easy say hello to everyone and love on Weezy.”

In April of 2024, Morgan announced White had been diagnosed with mouth cancer, asking her fans for prayers at the time.

“We thank you for your prayers,” Morgan said at the time. “I asked my team to release this information today … We deeply appreciate the prayers and well wishes, and for continued support and privacy as we focus on Randy’s health and on our family at this time,”

Last April, Morgan canceled several appearances, due to White’s declining health, while she was on tour with Alabama, as part of their Live in Concert 25 Tour.

This is the second time Morgan has lost a husband. She was previously married to Keith Whitley, whom she wed in 1986. Whitley passed away in 1989 from acute alcohol poisoning.

Funeral services have yet to be announced. Morgan was scheduled to appear at CMA Fest later this week. Updates will be posted to Lorrie.com as available.

Everything Nash extends our deepest condolences to Moragn and her family.
