Luke Bryan is canceling more shows on his Country Song Came On Tour, amid an ongoing illness. After performing in Arkansas on June 19, but giving fans a full refund due to struggles with his voice, Bryan canceled last weekend’s shows to focus on his healing.
Unfortunately, Bryan is still sick, so he is canceling three more shows, with Eric Church taking his place. Those shows are at Country Stampede in Bonner Springs, Kansas on June 26, NebraskaLand Days in North Platte, Nebraska on June 27, and Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 28. Church’s tour calendar reflects his new dates.
“I’m really sorry to say I won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows due to continued illness,” Bryan writes on social media. “I’ve been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet. Huge thanks to my buddy Eric Church for stepping in last minute — and of course, putting on a kick a– show like he always does. Sitting still is not what I do best so I can’t wait to be back soon. Love y’all.”
When Bryan announced last week that he was going to keep playing, but also give fans a refund, he said it was because of something Luke Combs did a few years ago.
“So, I’m gonna get real with y’all,” Bryan said on stage, his voice noticeably hoarse. “This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever dealt with in my life. I cannot have my voice in this venue for some reason. It happens every time, I don’t know why. But, you guys keep showing up year after year to see me put on this show.”
“I saw Luke Combs do this a couple of years ago, when he was having a weird night on stage. And I said, ‘You know what? That’s pretty cool.’ … We’re just going to make this what it is,” he continues. “I don’t know why I have to do this every time, but y’all can hear. So we’re gonna make the most of it.”

Bryan is also working on a new album, the follow-up to his Mind of a Country Boy, out last year.
“I’m on tour right now,” Bryan tells The Tennesseean. “I’m actively writing songs. People always ask me, ‘Are you working on a new album?’ I don’t think I ever stop really working on a new album. I’m always trying to write a little bit and find songs. My current single, ‘Country Song Came On,’ is nearing the Top 10 right now, which I’m excited about. But the bottom line is, get in the studio at some point and record some new music, and just keep doing the deal. Keep enjoying being a country music singer.”
Bryan has a Top 10 hit right now with “Country Song Came On,” from Mind of a Country Boy. Bryan’s next scheduled date on his calendar is currently July 10 in Toronto, Ontario. Keep track of updates at LukeBryan.com.
