Happy birthday to Luke Combs‘ oldest son, Tex! The little boy turns three on June 19. Combs celebrated the milestone with a sweet social media post.
“T-Man. I can’t believe you’re 3 (for Dale) years old already,” Combs writes, referring to Dale Earnhardt’s number. “I went through my phone this morning before you and your brother woke up to try and find these photos. That took me on a journey down memory lane that brought me to tears. Talk about the best Father’s Day gift of all time buddy. That’s you.
“We’ve had so much fun, made so many memories, and I can’t wait for the ones up ahead,” he continues. “Me and your Mama are so lucky to be your parents. We’re so proud of you, and we love you so much. Happy Birthday buddy.”

Combs and his wife Nicole share son Tex and his sibling, Beau, who will turn two in August. In spite of his superstar status, Combs is determined that his children grow up far away from the spotlight.
“I want my kids’ childhood to feel as normal as it can, given the very strange circumstances that it will ultimately become,” Combs shares on the MeatEater podcast (via Country Now). “That’s a choice you have to make. And you lose a lot of things with that in the sense of like, there’s so many cool opportunities that I have that maybe would be really, not really beneficial, but cool experiences or beneficial to my career that I pass on to do that for my kids.”
Perhaps surprisingly, the home Combs and his family live in is very, very normal — and even small by some standards.
“We live in a 2000 square foot house,” Combs reveals. “It’s me. It has two bedrooms. Me and my wife have a room, and then the kids, the boys, share a room. So we’re always close together.”
Combs also cut way back on touring this year, wanting to spend as much time with his wife and sons as possible.
“We’re only doing festivals this year,” Combs tells People.“We got 20-something shows this year. I’ve already done ten of them. I got 14 more shows for the rest of the whole year. I want to be home with my kids. I want to see my kids grow up and I want them to know that they’re important to me.”
Of course, Combs could still tour if the family used nannies to help, but the Grand Ole Opry member says he doesn’t want anyone else but him and Nicole raising their boys.
“We don’t have nannies or any of that stuff,” Combs says on Audacy‘s Superstar Power Hour. “We’ve thought about it, and it’s not a question of ‘Can we afford that?’ It’s a question of ‘Do we want that for our kids?’ And right now, at this time, I don’t think that’s something that we’re really interested in, because I want our kids to have as normal of a life as possible considering the circumstances. I’d rather them be riding bikes than riding a tour bus.”
Combs is planning a big tour in 2026. Find all of his music and upcoming shows at LukeCombs.com.
