Luke Combs Releases Emotional New Song, 'Giving Her Away' [WATCH]

A new song is out from Luke Combs. The singer just dropped “Giving Her Away.” The song, written by Gary Garris, Josh Mirenda, and Josh Phillips, is from Combs’ next album.

The father of two, with one on the way, first teased the song on social media. The tear-jerker song is about a soon-to-be husband and his bride’s father.

The song says in part, “Only she could’ve got us both in suits / Only she could’ve got us out our boots / Fightin’ back every tear that we both knew / We were gonna cry today. Neither one of us knows what to do / Standin’ up in front of a crowded room / On a springtime Saturday afternoon / With both our lives about to change / Man, you brought your baby / I brought a ring / I’m givin’ her my name / And you’re givin’ her away.”

What Luke Combs Says About His New Album

Combs recently released The Prequel, three songs ahead of his next record. Although Combs has yet to reveal a title or release date, he does hint that he has more than enough songs.

“I ’ve already recorded, I don’t know over 30 songs, I would think,” Combs tells Audacy. “I don’t know that there’s any plans to do like the big album thing. I just don’t know if I’d love that idea. There’s nothing against it. I mean, obviously it works really well.”

Combs may not like the idea of a big album, but neither does he like the idea of eliminating some of the songs he has already recorded.

“I’m really stoked about everything that we’ve recorded. I think it’s really, really strong stuff,” Combs boasts. “Obviously everyone says that about every album they’ve ever done, so take that with a grain of salt. But it’s really just up to people how good it is, but I’m really excited about it. I’m really stoked to be getting back into it.”

Luke Combs’ My Kinda Saturday Night Tour

In addition to releasing a new record in 2026, Combs is also headlining a massive tour. Combs will kick off his My Kinda Saturday Night Tour in March, joined by Dierks BentleyThomas Rhett, along with The Castellows, Ty Myers, The Teskey Brothers, Jake Worthington, and Thelma & James.

All of the opening acts were hand-picked by Combs.

“For me, I really like to try to curate the experience,” he says on SiriusXM’s The Highway. Like, I know Dierks puts on a great show. I know TR puts on a great show. I know those things. I can know if I’m out there, the crowd’s gonna be fired up. And it’s gonna make me work to have to put on a great show. You can’t phone it in after playing after Dierks. You can’t phone it in after playing after TR.”

The Lyrics to Luke Combs’ “Giving Her Away”

On any other weekend
At least one of us would be pulled off a road
Tackle box, cork dropped in a creek bend
Hand reelin’ on a Zebco
But today, there’s a line out the front door
Bunch of folks that we know ain’t ever seen
A fresh shine on our Fords
And us not in a pair of jeans
Oh, yeah, she’s your little girl
And oh, she’s my whole world

Only she could’ve got us both in suits
Only she could’ve got us out our boots
Fightin’ back every tear that we both knew
We were gonna cry today
Neither one of us knows what to do
Standin’ up in front of a crowded room
On a springtime Saturday afternoon
With both our lives about to change
Man, you brought your baby
I brought a ring
I’m givin’ her my name
And you’re givin’ her away

Yeah, I know it’s gotta be tough
And you’re happy, but you’re hurting behind that smile
You’ll always be her first love
And mine’s walking down the aisle
That song’s about to play
We’re gonna say, “I do”
And for the rest of my days
I’ll do my best to fill your shoes

I’m sayin’, “I love you”
And you’re saying, “Goodbye”
You’re lettin’ her hand go
Puttin’ it in mine
