Old Dominion could take home another CMA Award for Vocal Group of the Year. They are nominated for their tenth time in the category, winning every year since 2018. And they aren’t taking any of it for granted.
“It feels amazing,” Trevor Rosen tells the Country Music Association. “We’ve been in Nashville for a long time now, and we’ve had a lot of blood, sweat, and tears that we’ve put into trying to be songwriters first, and playing clubs. You just put all of that time and energy and effort into the craft and into the art. You’re not really thinking about awards. But then, when it comes to this day, and you look up, and you’re recognized for all that work, it feels really good.”
What Old Dominion Says About Their CMA Awards Performance
Old Dominion will also perform during the live ceremony. The five-man group will sing a medley of their hits, including “Break Up With Him,” “Memory Lane,” “One Man Band,” “Hotel Key,” and “Snapback.”
“We are performing a medley of a handful of our hits, just to kind of celebrate our entire career, really,” lead singer Matt Ramsey says. “So it’s going to be fun to cover our whole catalog, as much as we can, in five songs. It’s obviously a little different, because we don’t typically do medleys, or anything like that. Luckily, there’s a great team at the CMA Awards that helps us wrap our heads around how to do that, so we’re working with them, trying to come up with the most energetic, fun combination of songs that we can come up with.”

Old Dominion’s Recent Induction Into the Music City Walk of Fame
Old Dominion just received another huge honor, when they were inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame, alongside Charley Pride and songwriter Liz Rose.
“This is such a humbling experience,” Ramsey said during the group’s induction. “Especially for a bunch of guys that consider themselves underdogs. At times, that was very true, and other times not so true. But still, we have that spirit about us, I think. Even now, receiving this, there’s that nagging voice in our heads that’s telling us we’re still underdogs. And in that underdog spirit, we bled for this in a lot of ways. Not for recognition or awards, but for the songs and for the music, and for each other. We had to believe, when it felt like no one else did.”
Ramsey also acknowledged all of the other people, including family, friends, and fans, who helped make their country music dreams come true.
“The thing about chasing this crazy kind of dream is the voice that’s telling you that you believe in yourself, can very quickly turn on you, and convince you that you were crazy for ever believing in the first place,” Ramsey remarked. “In those moments, if you don’t have people that believe for you, you’ll never make it. And we have those people. Our families, and our friends, and our team, and our loved ones, and our fans. You cannot make a mark of this magnitude without the people that make a mark on you, so thank you for that.”
