Hey guys, it's Gail with everything. Nash here with the Isaacs, who, you know, they're my favorites
0:05
I say that about all the artists, but I feel like you kind of are because I grew up singing the hymns in church
0:10
So when I hear you guys, I just feel like I'm back home again. Oh, well, we love you too. Thank you
0:16
So we have lots to talk about starting with the country music cruise, which is almost sold out, by the way
0:22
But there's a good wait list. So tell me why you guys wanted to do this
0:25
well you know the opry everybody says oh the operas a big family it really is a big family and you know we've never been it we've done a lot of cruises we've sang on a lot of cruises but we've never done a country music cruise with opry people and the people that we love in that family so we thought it would be fun to go with that family on a cruise and it's just going to be awesome we're very very excited and we actually became opry members in 2021 and that just solid official family official
0:55
They're going to solidified. We have to do this cruise. You do
1:01
And we're going to talk about the Akrona Minute. But I want to talk about you're in really good company on this cruise with TG Shepherd, Dina Carter, John Michael Montgomery
1:10
I could go on a John Barry. Oh, he was on last year. Oh, he's so good
1:16
So talk about being, you did reference this a little bit, but talk about being in such great company
1:20
you know one of the coolest things about what we get to do and I guess the level at which we get to do it
1:30
is my phone sorry is getting to know other artists that you've admired for years I mean these artists are not much older than us if they are older than us and you know growing up listening to strawberry wine and and all those artists and
1:48
And it's very surreal to get to actually to call them friends
1:54
And, you know, we sang at a benefit concert last year. And John Barry was another artist that was on there
1:59
And we hung out backstage. And he got the guitar. And we were just singing together
2:03
And it was so much fun. And so I'm really looking forward to, you know, you do work a lot on these cruises
2:09
You sing a lot. It's about the people coming and, you know, seeing the performers
2:13
But to be with somebody for a whole week on a, you know, in a, a fun
2:18
environment, you really get to know them better. And I think that's why a lot of people
2:22
sign up for these cruises too is because they get to interact with the artists and
2:25
you know, see us at the buffet line and what do we like to eat and
2:29
a lot, a lot. And how we shouldn't be wearing a baby suit
2:33
public. I think the coolest part for me too is that you know, you pay high
2:40
tickets to see these performers do a professional show. And although the cruise
2:46
is a professional show, it's different. it is a different show than what they can put on in an arena with the lights
2:53
It's more personal. And I feel like the personalities of these artists come out more
2:58
because they not under the pressure of maybe what an arena or those environments they under a crutch smaller crowds We find we get to be a little bit more funny or engage with the audience more when the audience is like that
3:13
And I've watched so many videos of artists that have taken the cruise
3:17
And I just can't wait to go because I see them around the pool and in the sun and they're sailing
3:21
And I'm like, oh, my gosh, I can't wait to sing on that cruise. And who doesn't want to go to the Caribbean or Mexico or wherever it's going
3:28
in the dead of winter, you know, where it's cold here and most everywhere else in America
3:33
And you get to go get a tan. So it's awesome. Well, I hope that we get to hang out at the buffet next year
3:39
Yeah. I'm sure we will. I'll meet you at an ice cream stand every day
3:43
My husband literally got ice cream every day. I had sushi. He had ice cream
3:47
It's fair. Yeah. Okay. So on the cruise is they have the opera night
3:53
And you guys, we spoke when you became opera members. And that's been a few years ago
3:58
So now that you're kind of settled into your role, how does it feel to be grandol opera members
4:04
Well, I'd like to say it feels like a big family. You know, if we actually had been going to the Opry, the first time we were ever on the
4:11
Opry, Porta Wagner invited us to be on. How many years ago has that been
4:15
You know, we lose track. It's close to 30 years. 30 years ago
4:20
And we just here and there would, you know, ask if they had an opening and they'd have us
4:24
as guests. And so we just loved the Opry even back. But the big surprise was in 2021 when Ricky Skaggs popped up on station
4:34
the Lord said, and asked us, we about freaked out. But I have to say that from the staff to the crew, to the management, to the artist
4:44
it feels like a big family. And there's no big eyes and little views
4:49
Everybody just loves each other. I love it. I love the environment. It's just like a family
4:53
So I'm just proud of being a part of that. I really am grateful. Even after being members for the last couple of years
4:58
years. You still go in with a great respect for, you know, you feel like family, but at the same time
5:08
you still want to pinch yourself because you can't believe that you're actually part of that family
5:12
I mean, of all the artists out there that they could have invited in every genre of music
5:19
And the offering has done a good job of expanding their genres, include more gospel artists
5:25
Christian contemporary, bluegrass, you know, a lot of artists styles. So to be, I mean, I still, like, it still feels like a great dream that we, every time
5:38
we get to play on the opera, that we're part of that now in history. And we will go down in history as part of the opera family
5:45
It's amazing. And it's so cool because, honestly, it's surreal. We were backstage with Garth and Trisha one night
5:53
And we were talking about our induction, and Garth and Trisha both made the comment
5:58
we had no idea you weren't already members. And then just what this week they asked Teagram Brown to become a member And I was like I didn realize he wasn already a member And when you start seeing it through those eyes you realize oh my goodness there only
6:15
200, 200, what? We were 227 total out of all this time
6:22
And they've added people since us, but at the time we were inducted, there were only
6:25
about 67 members living. So they've inducted more people. So honestly, it's like, you
6:32
you know, of course Teagran Brown should be a member of the Opry. And you didn't realize the ones that haven't been like we were
6:39
It kind of makes you feel a little bad or guilty because you got in before they
6:44
they did. Right. And they deserve it like 400 times. Right. Yeah
6:48
Crazy. Crazy. To a general manager of Opera Dan. Yeah. For remembering the little people and all the people like T. Graham that have
6:58
the big people like T. their time. Yeah, the big artist that, for whatever reason, just never were asked
7:04
And I have to say, Dan Rogers is one of the kindest, sweetest people in the world
7:10
So is Gina. The whole staff is, but it's so funny. My kids, my kids, of course, they call me mom everywhere we go because I'm their mom
7:17
Now, everybody backstage at the opera calls me mom, including Dan. So he made me a parent. Everybody needs a Jewish mother
7:25
Everybody. I would like a Jewish mother. Good. Okay, we've talked about a couple more things before I let you guys go. You also, big things, you were on a big tour last year. No big deal. Reba takes you out on tour. It's fine. How was that
7:43
Amazing. Amazing. There are no words. I mean, from the beginning of the tour to the last day, how they treated us the respect that her band and staff and Reba herself and Rex and Terry Clarke
7:59
Clark and all the people on the tour showed us was just mind-blowing
8:05
They were very supportive. You know, there was no competition out there
8:10
Like, you might think there would be... We weren't treated like the new kids on the block
8:15
Not at all. And, you know, it was really a dream come true. And I hope that if Riba tours again win, that she'll think of us again
8:23
Yeah. That was really amazing. I mean, it was, let's be honest, we were on the biggest stage of our career
8:28
Gaitzer stage was doing arenas too, but we were we were comfortable in that market
8:33
And, you know, Gather did a lot for the Isaacs. But other than Gator arenas, we'd never been had that, had that opportunity in that size
8:41
especially in a secular market that we've never really gotten a stage in front of before
8:46
So other than the operative performances, but individual TV performances and things like that
8:51
But to do a tour besides an arena tour. Yeah. It was awesome
8:57
Awesome. I got to see it. It was incredible. Okay, two more questions. I'm going to let you go. American Face came out
9:02
Are we working on new music? We are. You know this will be our second album that we done that was like more in the secular vein And then we written a bunch of songs with some awesome writers in Nashville
9:16
And then we also are going to release another album this year at some point that is more
9:22
praise and worship style songs recorded our style, the popular ones that are you doing it as well
9:32
Not again. We've already recorded that one. Yeah. A couple times. I pretend that I'm you guys when I sing it with you
9:38
It's fine. I know what I pretend. Okay. Last question. Becky, how are you doing? How's your health
9:43
I'm good. I'm really good. You know, I would, if I were going to put it on a scale
9:48
I'd say I'm about 80% right now. There's some things I can't do that I'm praying that
9:53
that God restores maybe through other surgeries. And, you know, I can walk well
9:59
but the rest of the things that go along with standing, squatting, down. My knees are still quite a bit traumatized and I have some soft tissue issues that need to be
10:08
repaired when the doctors say it's time. But I'm putting it off as long as I can because I don't
10:13
want to go through leg braces again and all of that, you know, but I'm doing great. You know, I have to say
10:20
I survived Crohn's disease for many years and I would get, you know, I've been in complete
10:26
remission and doing great from that. And for years, I would get letters from people that have
10:30
struggled with Crohn's disease. And probably one of the heaviest crosses to carry right now for
10:36
me is the mail that I get now is I lost my daughter in a car accident just like yours
10:42
or I lost my husband, or I survive, you know, and I find myself feeling so grateful that I lived
10:51
but praying for wisdom to encourage those people who had a different outcome than I did
10:57
And so it's interesting. Survivor's guilt or maybe not necessarily. Yeah, survivor's guilt
11:05
But I just pray that God gives me the wisdom to pour into those people that God gives me the ability to just minister to them because, you know, one thing I did realize, though, is that no matter what you're going through, it's your cross to carry
11:22
And God gives you grace for that. And that the Lord just uses us
11:27
as a whole in me, my story to be able to minister no matter what side of the aisle you're on
11:34
no matter what situation, whatever cross you're carrying that God gives the Isaac's wisdom
11:38
to be able to just pour into them positive energy and strength and hope and the hope in the gospel
11:45
And that's what got me through it. And so I'm thankful to be here and continue to get better
11:54
Well, we're thankful you're here too. All right. I've kept you way too long, so I have to let you go, but I love talking to you
11:59
So if you want to talk, like, you know, about new albums that may or may not be coming out anytime, just let me know
12:04
Yes. We would love to to catch up on that once we announce it and all that stuff
12:10
All right. Thanks, guys. Have a great day. Thank you, so much
