Randy Travis Has New Music That Is Coming Out ‘Pretty Soon’

Randy Travis has more music that is coming out in the near future. The Country Music Hall of Fame member is using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to be able to continue to sing, after a stroke in 2013 took his voice. After releasing “Where That Came From” in 2024, followed by “Horses in Heaven,” Randy’s wife, Mary, says he has a lot more music to share with the world.

“I think there’ll be more songs,” Mary tells Fox News. “I think that Randy’s interested in doing more songs. You know, the first one was ‘Where That Came From,’ the second one being ‘Horses in Heaven’ and there is another one that will probably be coming up pretty soon. We have folders of music that Randy has written, music or songs that Randy’s written. And perhaps one of those will see the light of day,”

How Randy Travis Uses AI To Record More Music

While some critics cry foul at Randy’s use of AI to release more music, Mary says it’s just like using any other form of technology.

:”AI will be able to use Randy’s vocal from the stems and create a whole new song from a song that may not be completed,” she explains. “And it may work with another artist to co-write, to finish it. And I think the sky’s the limit and AI is a wonderful tool if used correctly, just like the telephone, the computer, everything else in life that we use every day now and take for granted, at one point in time, it was as frightening as AI is today.”

When “Where That Come From” was released, Cris Lacy, co-president of Randy’s Warner Music Nashville record label, says she had the idea to use AI to allow Randy to share more music with the world.

“We started with this concept of, what would AI for good look like for us?” Cris recalls to  CBS News. “And the first thing that came to mind was, ‘We would give Randy Travis his voice back.’”

AI can admittedly be a slippery slope for many, but not for Cris.

“It’s Randy Travis,” she maintains. “Randy’s on the other side of the microphone. It’s still his vocal. There’s no reason he shouldn’t be able to make music, and to deprive him of that, if he still wants to do that, that’s unconscionable to me.”

Randy Travis’ New ‘Forever and Ever, Amen’ Biopic

In addition to working on new music, Randy is also working on a biopic, Forever and Ever, Amen, about his own life. Clay Walker is producing the film, along with Travis’ wife, Mary Travis, and veteran producer Eric Groth. Clay will also portray Randy for part of the film.

“We’ve been approached many times through the years about doing a movie… but the timing or team has never felt quite as good as it feels right now,” Randy says in a statement. “With Clay on our side, and the creative direction he and the producers have, I feel good about telling my story through this medium.“

“Randy Travis is the voice of a generation and one of the greatest country singers of all time,” adds Clay. “I am truly honored to be a part of this project, and cannot believe I get to play one of my hero

A release date has yet to be announced. He is continuing his The More Life Tour, with guest vocalist James Dupré singing some of Travis’ biggest hits. Find all of Randy’s music and upcoming shows at RandyTravis.com.
