Riley Green has another massive hit at radio. Green just released “Change My Mind,” a song that already seems poised to become one of the biggest songs of his career. Keep reading to find out everything to know about Green’s hot new single.
Who Wrote Riley Green’s “Change My Mind”
Green wrote “Change My Mind” with Erik Dylan and Randy Montana. The song is on Green’s latest Don’t Mind If I Do album.
What Riley Green Says About “Change My Mind”
By his own admission, “Change My Mind” might push the proverbial envelope, at least for some people. The song says in part, “Show up in a midnight sundress / Burn me up with a whiskey kiss / Look at me with them pretty brown eyes / And tell me lies just to change my mind / You know I’m giving in, so go ahead / Do it, baby, like you’ve done a thousand times / Change my mind.” But Green says that the song could have been even more suggestive than the final product.
“The lyrics that don’t make it into the songs are where we went too far,” Green explains. “So, we usually go there, and then we backtrack to a place where we think maybe somebody won’t be offended. But to a certain extent, ‘Worst Way’ is a pretty direct song. And it’s done really well for me, so I guess we don’t shy away from it too much.”
Why Riley Green Is Excited About Releasing “Change My Mind”
Green released “Change My Mind” as “Don’t Mind If I Do,” his second duet with Ella Langley, is in the Top 5 at country radio. “Change My Mind” is not only the most first-week adds he has ever received, but it also became the most added song the week it was released.
“It’s always kind of crazy when you have songs like this where ‘Worst Way’ just blew up and became this huge song, and then ‘Don’t Mind If I Do’ did the same thing. ‘Change My Mind’ is one that really did, too,” Green tells Country Now. “So I’m excited about a song that’s already had a life of its own getting a chance to be heard by people on country radio who maybe haven’t heard it yet, or haven’t heard of me. Radio is still the biggest way to get songs out there.”
What Riley Green Says About New Music in 2026
“Change My Mind” is likely the last single from Don’t Mind If I Do, since Green hints he will have a new album by the start of his Cowboy As It Gets Tour in April. And after winning three CMA Awards in November, the 37-year-old is more motivated than ever to have fans hear his next project.
“It’s a crazy thing. I can honestly say I never thought I’d have a song on radio, or a record deal,” Green admits. “It still feels crazy to get to come to these things. It really does. And to get to see all of the performers, and all these people that I’m a huge fan of. To get the recognition we got tonight is a really big deal. And probably more than anything, it’s motivating. Makes you want to keep playing 100-plus shows a year, and write as many songs as you can, and keep putting out music. Because something’s working, and I don’t know what it is, but I’m gonna do as much of it as I can.”
