Riley Green Has Been a ‘Huge Fan’ of Justin Moore Since He Was a Kid

Riley Green is a big fan of Justin Moore. It’s why he asked Moore to join him next year, as the opening act on Green’s Cowboy As It Gets Tour, kicking off in April.

“I’ve been a huge fan of his,” Green tells Country Countdown USA. “He can play nothing but hits for 60 minutes. I went to see him when I was 23 in Biloxi. Got to meet him back then. There’s a picture of me at his meet and greet. Now he’s going on tour with me.”

Shortly after announcing the tour, Green shared why he was so excited to have Moore hit the road with him next year.

“I was a huge Justin Moore fan as a kid. I’ve still got a picture of me at meet and greet where he opened for Eric Church when I was about 23,” Green tells Billboard. “And it’s just so cool to be able to go out on the road with him and hear him play all of his hits and maybe even introduce him to some of my fans.”

Riley Green Looks Ahead After Winning 3 CMA Awards

Green recently walked away with three new CMA Awards – Video of the Year, Single of the Year, and Song of the Year – all for his “You Look Like You Love Me” collaboration with Ella Langley. The new trophies make Green want to work harder than ever, especially as he heads into 2026.

“It’s a crazy thing. I can honestly say I never thought I’d have a song on radio, or a record deal,” Green said backstage at the CMA Awards. “It still feels crazy to get to come to these things. It really does. And to get to see all of the performers, and all these people that I’m a huge fan of. To get the recognition we got tonight is a really big deal. And probably more than anything, it’s motivating. Makes you want to keep playing 100-plus shows a year, and write as many songs as you can, and keep putting out music. Because something’s working, and I don’t know what it is, but I’m gonna do as much of it as I can.”

Riley Green’s Christmas Plans

Green has earned downtime, which he plans on taking over the holidays. The 37-year-old will return to his home state of Alabama, and enjoy time with loved ones he doesn’t get to see as often anymore.

“Well, Christmas has always been a big tradition in our family,” Green says. “They all get together and kinda share stories and memories. My favorite family tradition during Christmas is definitely the food, the home-cooked meals back at home. I kind of miss those being on the road a lot.”

Green performed an original song, “Christmas To Me,” for the CMA Country Christmas. The show is streaming now on Hulu and Disney+.
