Riley Green Performs 'Jesus Saves' On 'The Voice' [WATCH]

Riley Green just brought one of his emotional songs to The Voice. The Alabama native performed “Jesus Saves,” a song he wrote by himself, as part of the show’s finale. “Jesus Saves” is on Green’s latest Don’t Mind If I Do record.

“Jesus Saves” is about a homeless man, who writes “Jesus Saves” on his cardboard sign.

“The thought is a true story,” Green tells Holler. “It was me passing the same guy on the same corner in Nashville, and just thinking he’s got one little piece of cardboard to try to tell people his story, and why they should stop and hear him out and lend a hand. I guess it’s just the message of, you never know what somebody’s been through. I thought that was a really positive message. So I just sat down and tried to write that from a standpoint of somebody that’s had a lot of things happen to him that got him to the place he is now.”

“Jesus Saves” says, “My daddy left for another woman, moved off to L.A. / My mama fought hard against that cancer, she died when I was eight / I finished school, my country shipped me off to war / When I came home, my whole world didn’t love me anymore / It’s hard to see all just driving by / So, I just write down ‘Jesus Saves,’ ’cause there ain’t no way / I can fit that on a sign.”

Riley Green Hits No. 1 With “Don’t Mind If I Do” With Ella Langley

Green just celebrated another No. 1 single, with “Don’t Mind If I Do.” The song is his second duet with Ella Langley, following “You Look Like You Love Me,” which also landed at the top of the charts.

Fortunately, the “Worst Way” singer is open to a third duet with Langley, after the previous two did so well.

“It would be really difficult not to try to do another song with Ella because that’s really worked well,” Green says. He adds that anything that happens with Langley, or any other artist, will likely not be planned.

“I think any collaboration that I do has got to be something that’s really organic,” Green says.  “Just somebody that I have a relationship with, somebody I’m friends with, somebody I’m a fan of, and has the same musical inspirations that I do. I think me and Ella grew up the same way, and I think fans can tell when it’s real. There’s certainly some collaborations that go through management and labels and the proper channels, and I’ve never done it that way. It’s always been somebody I’m friends with that says, ‘Hey, I like this song. Wanna be a part of it?’”

Riley Green’s 2026 Plans in Country Music

Green just took home three CMA Awards, all for “You Look Like You Love Me.”  The success makes him even more eager for 2026 and the music he is ready to release.

“It’s a crazy thing. I can honestly say I never thought I’d have a song on radio, or a record deal,” Green said backstage at the CMA Awards. “It still feels crazy to get to come to these things. It really does. And to get to see all of the performers, and all these people that I’m a huge fan of. To get the recognition we got tonight is a really big deal. And probably more than anything, it’s motivating. Makes you want to keep playing 100-plus shows a year, and write as many songs as you can, and keep putting out music. Because something’s working, and I don’t know what it is, but I’m gonna do as much of it as I can.”

Green will kick off his Cowboy As It Gets Tour, kicking off in April, with Justin Moore serving as his opening act.
