Thomas Rhett Announces ‘About A Woman (Deluxe)’

Thomas Rhett Announces 'About A Woman (Deluxe)'

A deluxe version of Thomas Rhett‘s latest About A Woman album is coming soon. Rhett announces the release of About A Woman (Deluxe), out on September 26 on streaming platforms. The new record, available on October 3 on CD and vinyl, features a total of 25 songs, adding several new ones to all of the songs on Rhett’s 2024 About A Woman record.

“I can’t even describe the joy I’ve felt this summer,” Rhett says of performing the About A Woman songs on his Better in Boot Tour. “It is unreal how much fans have made this new music part of their lives – they’ve come out to dance and sing along at shows, added favorites to their playlists and tuned in on the radio in a way that I will remember the rest of my life.”

Included on About A Woman (Deluxe) are three brand-new songs: “Water,” “Chapter 10” and “On a River.” Rhett also speaks out about his forthcoming new project on social media.

“I promised y’all a summer full of new music and we did just that,” he writes. “Getting to play these new tracks on the road for y’all has made this tour even better than we could’ve imagined. We’ve got three more coming your way 9/26. These last three songs wrap up the entire deluxe edition of About A Woman. Cheers y’all.”

The Thomas Rhett and Blake Shelton Duet On ‘About A Woman (Deluxe)’

Included on About A Woman (Deluxe) is “Old Tricks,” a collaboration with Blake Shelton.

“Looking back at it today, it’s just so funny to hang out with Blake today, because I am opening a show for him, but he was helping me with homework ten years ago,” Rhett previously said on the Today Show.

Rhett is one of several writers on “Old Tricks,” which illutrates how much both Rhett and Shelton have changed over the years.

“Basically, the hook of the song is ‘My old tricks don’t work anymore,’” Rhett tells Apple Music (via Country Now). “In college, I could drink ten beers a day, wake up ready to do it again… [Now] it takes two full days to recover from that. And Blake hops on the second verse, and it’s just being, in such special Blake fashion, just made the song 150 percent better.”

The Inspiration Behind ‘About A Woman’

When Rhett released About A Woman last year, he said the entire record is a celebration of his wife, Lauren Akins, whom he wed in 2012.

“She’s one of the most interesting and smartest people I know,” Rhett says of Akins. “She graduated from [the University of] Tennessee with a nursing degree. She was always at the top of our class. In high school, she tutored me in math. She’s genuinely the most authentic person I’ve ever met.”
