Tim McGraw Praises His Daughter Audrey For 'Chasing Her Dreams'

Tim McGraw is an incredibly proud father. McGraw, who shares three daughters with his wife, Faith Hill, posts a tribute to their youngest daughter, Audrey, who just wrapped up her run serving as the opening act on Brandi Carlile’s European The Last Time Tour.

“One day you’re watching your little girl take her first steps, and the next she’s stepping onto a stage chasing her dreams,” McGraw writes.

McGraw captions the post by saying, “So proud of our baby girl Audrey McGraw for wrapping up her first international tour with the amazing Brandi Carlile! We were lucky enough to go to some of the shows and she absolutely killed it!”

Audrey also reflected on her time on tour with Carlile, sharing her thoughts after the tour’s final show.

“What an absolute honor,” she says in part. “It will never be lost on me the sheer artistry I was surrounded by this past month. These people I fall to my knees for, I cry for, I scream for. I love them. … Brandi, thank you for welcoming me. It was the joy of my life listening to you each night. Your music and your voice… it breaks my heart and all at once mends the cracks with gold. I will never forget this time. I watched with wide, misty eyes. Taking it all in. Now I close them and dream with these amazing memories.

“THANK YOU ALL!!!!” she concludes. “As if I didn’t already have the bug, it bites again… good luck gettin me off that stage now. Let’s keep on rockin!”

McGraw and Hill were able to catch Audrey at some of her shows because of his unfortunate time off from touring, due to his health issues. McGraw reveals he had multiple surgeries, including on both of his knees.

“Over the last two years, I’ve had four major surgeries,” McGraw shares on Audacy. “So it’s been a rough go, but you know, I beat myself up over the years pretty badly.”

“I’m starting to come around,” he continues. “It’s just gonna take a little time, but I’ve done a lot of PT getting to where I can move a little better. There are setbacks. You go a couple of weeks, everything is really good, then you have a couple of weeks everything goes backwards.”

McGraw has a hit single at radio with “Paper Umbrellas,” a collaboration with Parker McCollum. Fortunately, the song was approved by the person most important to McGraw, his wife.

“Oh, she loved it, so I got her stamp of approval,” McGraw says. “That’s probably more important than anything else in my life, is to get her stamp of approval on something, because if there’s anybody’s ears I trust, it’s hers. But, you know, we don’t always agree, either, so that’s always a good thing, too. ‘Cause she’ll check me on stuff that I think’s great, and she’ll go, ‘Eh, that’s pretty average.’”

Currently, McGraw’s next concert is scheduled on August 2 at Bristol Motor Speedway. He will headline the Field of Dreams concert on August 30 in Dyersville, Iowa. Find “Paper Umbrellas” and all of McGraw’s music and upcoming shows at TimMcGraw.com.
