Trey Calloway Premieres Rowdy New Single, 'Truck Around' [EXCLUSIVE]

Trey Calloway has a new song out, and he is giving Everything Nash readers an exclusive first listen. The singer just dropped “Truck Around,” an uptempo tune that celebrates everything Calloway loves about country music.

“With ‘Truck Around,’ we wanted to capture that high-octane energy of country life,” Calloway tells Everything Nash. “It’s a rocking invitation to celebrate country living, and for anyone stuck in the city grind to swap the neon for the stars and see what happens when you give a country boy a chance. As the song says, sometimes you just have to truck around and find out for yourself.”

A celebration of the country way of life, Calloway hopes the song encourages others to get away from the grind, if only for a little while.

“‘Truck Around’ is an invitation to swap the concrete jungle for a gravel road,” he says. “It’s about high-octane country life and romance that a country boy and his rolling truck can deliver if given a chance. I think sometimes you just have to see the sunset from a tailgate to know what it’s all about.

“‘Truck Around’ is a rocking tribute to taking a chance on a different kind of life, where the music is louder, and the love is true,’ Calloway adds. “The song pays homage to country living and simpler times and invites listeners to try it out for themselves.”

How Trey Calloway Wrote “Truck Around”

“Truck Around” says in part, “Come on / Truck around and find out / I’m gonna show you how / A country boy like me gets down / I’ve got a long bed for dancin’ / Moonlight romancin’ / My speakers and my subs get loud / It’s a great big world / On the outskirts of town / Truck around and find out.”

Calloway teamed up with Texas Country Music Association’s Christian Country Songwriters of the Year, Aaron Loy and Jim Hawkins, to write “Truck Around.”

“It’s a high-energy, full-of-life celebration of country life and high-octane music,” Calloway says. “After the emotional weight of ‘She Misses Being Mrs,’ we were ready to let loose and create a different kind of romance that really rocks the tailgate.”
