Trisha Yearwood Announces Monumental New Album, 'The Mirror'

Trisha Yearwood just announced the release of her next album, The Mirror, marking a career first for the superstar. The record, out on July 18, is the first record Yearwood is releasing that is entirely co-written and co-produced by the singer.

The Mirror will be released on Virgin Records, in partnership with Yearwood’s own Gwendolyn Records. The record also returns Yearwood to her roots, with Music Corporation of America (MCA), where Yearwood’s legendary career began in 1991.

“I’m honored to join forces with Virgin Music Group as I embark on this exciting new chapter,” Yearwood says. “Bringing my Gwendolyn label into the MCA/Universal family truly feels like coming home. I can’t wait to share my new album, The Mirror. Creating this music has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,”

Yearwood also spoke out about her new record on social media, sharing a clip of one of the songs.

“My first fully co-written and co-produced album, ‘The Mirror’ will be yours on July 18th,” Yearwood writes. “This is a new chapter for me and one I cannot wait to share with you, so two songs are dropping tomorrow to give you a taste of what’s to come. I am so proud of this record and hope you love it as much as I loved creating it.”

Yearwood previously said she was releasing an album of songs she had written. After spending most of her career believing she wasn’t a talented songwriter, thanks to careless words someone told her when she was still a teenager, Yearwood focused solely on singing, until now.

“I’ve let it be true, but not anymore,” Yearwood tells CMT.  “It’s still hard for me, but I’m doing it. I’m always nervous when I go, but I get a little less nervous every time. It’s just been really good. I’m so excited about it.”

It was hit songwriter Leslie Satcher who first suggested Yearwood try her hand at songwriting.

“She’s like, ‘Girl, every time we get together, I think you’ve got something to say,’” Yearwood remembers. “So, I finally said, ‘Okay, I’ll do this with you, but I’m really nervous.’”

2025 is shaping up to be a big year for Yearwood. In addition to releasing her new album, she is also celebrating having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“I’m overwhelmed … It’s one of those surreal moments,” Yearwood said during her acceptance speech. “My team, Team TY, who are all here, who I love, we all talk about being where your feet are. And I’m trying to be where my feet are, but it’s very surreal to be here. It’s such an honor.”

Yearwood was also honored with tributes by both Reba McEntire and Carly Pearce.
