2020 ACM Awards: Luke Combs’ ‘What You See Is What You Get’ Wins Album of the Year

The 2020 ACM Award for Album of the Year went to Luke Combs! Luke beat out Maren Morris’ GIRL, Miranda Lambert’s Wildcard, Thomas Rhett’s Center Point Road and Jon Pardi’s Heartache Medication to take home the trophy.

“This has got to be really quick, from what I hear,” Luke began. “I’m at the Bluebird, the place that I always wanted to play, before I moved to town. I just want to thank my management team, my family, my wife Nicole, for being a lot of the inspiration for this. My producer, Scott [Moffatt], for working with me on this album. It was hell to make, but we did it … All the fans, thank you so much for loving this album. Thank you guys so much.”

Luke, who also won the ACM Award for Male Artist of the Year, is also nominated for six CMA Awards, including the night’s highest honor, Entertainer of the Year, a category he shares with Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban and Eric Church.

“You know, you never really expect something like this when you move to Nashville,” Luke shared with his record label. “I mean, getting six CMA nominations is pretty insane. Two in the same category is just unbelievable, especially in a category that means so much to me, Song of the Year. And obviously, being in the conversation for Entertainer of the Year for the first time is such a huge deal, and having a seat at the table with Carrie and Miranda and Keith and Eric, people who I view as so far above me in this industry, it’s just an honor.”

Luke’s new wife, Nicole, makes a cameo in the video for his latest single, “Lovin’ on You.” Watch it here.
