Scotty McCreery has a brand-new song out, with a legendary rock band. The American Idol alum just released “Bottle Rockets” a collaboration with Hootie & the Blowfish, which features their iconic “Hold My Hand” single.
“This song takes me back to those summers of having fun with no responsibilities with good times and good tunes,” McCreery said. “For me growing up in the Carolinas, Hootie & the Blowfish were just massive and such a huge part of great summers growing up. That’s what this song ‘Bottle Rockets’ is about.”
“Bottle Rockets” is McCreery’s first single since “Fall of Summer,” which was the second release from his 2024 Rise & Fall album.
McCreery will have plenty of chances to perform “Bottle Rockets,” and all of his other hits, throughout the remainder of the year. He is headlining his own UK Tour, which begins on May 24 in Belfast, Ireland.
“It’s been too long and I cannot wait to come back to the UK,” McCreery said when announcing the overseas tour. “We’ve had so many e-mails and social media posts from fans asking us to return, and I’m happy to say ‘we’re coming!’ I’ve never been to Belfast or Birmingham before, and I am looking forward to visiting those cities. I’ve only been to Glasgow as part of C2C a few years ago, so I’m excited to come on my own. And the band and I had a blast the last time we were in London and Manchester, so I knew we had to come back there. It’s always special to come and perform in the UK!”
He recently announced that he and Dustin Lynch are also co-headlining Two For The Road Tour, beginning this fall.
“I think it’s going to be fun for us,” McCreery said, while speaking to Lynch. “I think it’s going to be fun for the fans. I think it’s going to be — if they’ve seen you before, if they’ve seen me before, I think it’s going to be a different vibe, different show that they haven’t seen before.”
In addition to new music, McCreery is also giving new life to one of his former albums. The North Carolina native will release Seasons Change: Platinum Edition, a vinyl version of his 2018 record, with four bonus acoustic tracks.
“The Seasons Change album was truly life-changing for me,” says McCreery. “After experiencing both some career highs and lows, I was starting over. For the first time, I co-wrote all the songs and felt like the project was truly me. It has been both gratifying and confidence-building to see how the fans, radio and streaming have embraced the music from this album and me. I’m a guy who loves to look back, and I celebrate the release of this new expanded edition and all the accomplishments we’ve made since the original album came out, while also looking ahead to making new dreams come true.”
Seasons Change: Platinum Edition will be out on June 20. Find “Bottle Rockets” and all of McCreery’s music and upcoming shows at ScottyMcCreery.com.
