Austin Brown was eliminated in the Quarterfinals on America’s Got Talent. Brown, who performed an original song, “Whiskey,” was voted off of AGT, but assures fans this is just the beginning for him.
“Put my all into this performance and no matter what I’m dang proud of it!” Brown writes on social media. “Thank you to all who took time out of their busy lives to watch me on AGT! And if you just found me, don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.”

Austin Brown’s Journey on ‘AGT’
Brown left Home Free last year to pursue a solo career. When he originally auditioned for America’s Got Talent, Brown performed “When A Man Loves A Woman.” The judges were split in their decision, with Sofia Vergara and Mel B giving Brown a yes, while Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell gave him a no.
At the time, Cowell suggested that he return and sing a different song. Unbeknownst to Cowell, Brown stayed in Los Angeles, determined to audition again for this season. Fortunately, Brown’s persistence paid off, and he was able to return, this time singing an original song, “Somebody Believed,” earning a yes from all four judges.
“I was shocked, honestly,” Brown tells Everything Nash. “‘Cause I felt like that was one of the best times I’ve ever sang in a situation where I was that nervous. I felt like I did well. I feel like I did close to my best. And for me to have gotten two nos, I was really just sort of immediately astounded and also thinking in my head, ‘Okay, everything happens for a reason.’”
For Brown, just getting to sing again already felt like a win for him.
“Just getting to sing that song, a song that honestly, it feels like it was written for that moment,” Brown says. “It literally talks about turning nos into yeses. … It still feels like a dream, but it just keeps getting better. And I’m just grateful for the journey.”
What’s Next For Austin Brown After ‘AGT’
Brown is still relentless in his pursuit of building his career as a solo artist. With a much larger fanbase, thanks to his time on America’s Got Talent, the sky is the limit for Brown.
“Having this opportunity, there’s nothing better,” he says. I was just looking at the stats and stuff. It’s literally the No. 1 talent show out there. There’s no comparison.
“And so, it gives me the opportunity to fulfill my dreams,” Brown adds. “To maybe one day be a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and to win CMA awards, and make it on the country radio. This is a step in that direction. And I’m just looking forward to every step that comes after it.”
